10、d in DIN EN 1036-1:2008. The only information given on this subject is in the informative annex on cleaning and fixing mirrors; this information does not have any prohibitive character, however, which means that other technical rules on the fixing of mirrors can be applied (e.g. Technical Guideline
11、No. 11 of the German Glaziers Guild (Glaserhandwerk) “Glazing work Mounting mirrors” 4threv. ed. 2006). WARNING If mirrors in buildings are used as overhead mirrors or fall protection, for instance, regulatory provisions may apply in addition to DIN EN 1036-1. Since the variety of mirror fixing mate
12、rials used in Germany is so great, some of the information in the informative Annex B is not applicable. Thus, the following remarks which are likewise informative by the German Federal Association of Guilds in Glazing (Bundesinnungsverband des Glaserhandwerkes) have been included here as a National
13、 Annex: Air should be able to circulate between the mirror and the wall or any other mounting surface. To ensure sufficient ventilation, there should be a gap between the mirror and the mounting surface of at least 5 mm for less than 1 m high mirrors, or at least 510 mm for mirrors with a height gre

It should be noted that pockets of moisture can form if the gap between the mirror and the mounting surface is too small. Sufficient back-ventilation is essential
15、for the mirrors service life. If the mounting materials used (e.g. adhesives, tapes) do not provide the specified gap, a means of applying the mounting materials shall be used that ensures the best possible ventilation (vertical application of adhesives/tapes, use of distance pieces, or selection of
16、 an appropriate mirror). 17、prevent bending and thus distortion - the weight of the mirror should not be supported by the edges. Particularly large mirrors should be hung to avoid distortion through bulging or bending. DIN EN 1036-1:2008-03 EN 1036-1:2007 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard specifies minimum quality requirements (in respect of optical, visual and edge faults) and durability tests for mirrors from silvered f
36、loat glass for internal use in building. This European Standard applies only to mirrors from silvered glass manufactured from flat annealed clear or tinted float glass, 2 mm to 10 mm thickness, and supplied in stock/standard sizes and as-cut finished sizes. This European Standard does not apply to m
37、irrors from silvered glass manufactured from any basic glass other than float glass, any processed glass, i.e. thermally toughened safety glass, heat strengthened glass, chemically strengthened glass and laminated glass, and any bent glass. For mirrors from silvered glass used in aggressive and/or c
38、onstantly high humidity atmospheres, e.g. horse riding halls, swimming pools, medical baths, saunas etc. this European Standard is not applicable.
