This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I o
7、f the “Machinery Directive”, Directive 98/37/EC, (valid until 28 December 2009) and the “revised Machinery Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, which takes effect on 29 December 2009, and which apply to shredders that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. This standard s
8、erves to facilitate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of the directives. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of th
9、e Machinery Directive (“presumption of conformity”). The European Standards referred to in clause 2 of the EN have been published as the corresponding DIN EN Standards with the same number. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indicated in the scope of this document. When provision
29、s of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B standards, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard. 1 Scope
30、 This standard specifies the essential safety requirements applicable to the design and construction of shredders used for plastic and rubber. The machine begins with the outer edge of the feed hopper and ends with the discharge area. This standard does not deal with equipment for feeding material o
31、r discharging shredded material. This standard does not deal with safety measures to reduce the risk from ignition of flammable residues in material to be shredded This standard does not deal with requirements for local exhaust ventilation systems. Only the significant hazards listed in clause 4 and
32、 dealt with in clause 5 are subject to this standard. NOTE Directive 94/9/EC concerning equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres can be applicable to the type of machine or equipment covered by this European Standard. The present standard does not necess
