This standard differentiates the size of the setts only according to their nominal dimensions. Thus, the setts are no long
13、er classified into size classes as in DIN 18502. In German, the different sized setts are referred to as listed below for the relevant nominal dimensions: “Mosaikpflaster” (mosaic pavement) (50 mm and 60 mm setts); “Kleinpflaster” (small setts) (70 mm, 80 mm, 90 mm and 100 mm sized setts); “Gropflas
14、ter” (large setts) (larger sized setts up to 300 mm). The size classes specified in DIN 18502 were toleranced, although these only applied to split stone. The tolerances specified in DIN EN 1342 are less strict. These wider tolerances for riven setts (classes 1 and 2) makes laying in accordance with
15、 DIN 18318 more difficult, and makes laying in regular rows impossible. Therefeore, class 2 setts as in DIN EN 1342 which have been dressed or partially dressed for this purpose shall be used. DIN EN 1342:2013-03 EN 1342:2012 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard specifies the performance requirements and the corresponding test methods for all natural stone setts used for external paving and road finishes. External paving use includes all pavements ty
37、pical of road works, such as pedestrian and trafficked areas, outdoor squares and similar to be used in an outdoor condition that are subject to the weathering agents, such as temperature changes, rain, ice, wind, etc. This European Standard provides also for the evaluation of conformity and for mar
38、king of the natural stone setts.
