National foreword This document (EN 15497:2014) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 124 “Timber structures” (Secretariat: AFNOR, France). The responsible German body involved in its

Together with DIN EN 14080:2013-09, this document supersedes DIN EN 385:2007-11. Amendments This standard differs from DIN
9、EN 385:2007-11 (withdrawn 2013-09) as follows: a) the standard has been revised as a product standard for structural finger jointed solid timber taking into account the requirements of Regulation (EU) No 305/2011; b) the former Clause 7 “Quality control” has been replaced by a new Clause 6 “Assessme
10、nt and Verification of Constancy of Performance (AVCP)”; c) specifications for the drawing up of a declaration of performance have been added; d) requirements for marking and labelling have been included; e) a list of the applicable species has been added; f) requirements for phenolic and aminoplast
11、ic adhesives, moisture curing one-component polyurethane adhesives (PUR) and emulsion polymer isocyanate adhesives (EPI) have been added; g) requirements for application devices for the separate application of resin and hardener have been added; h) provisions for contact free adhesive application ha

39、 sets out provisions regarding the performance characteristics for structural finger jointed timber with rectangular cross section for use in buildings and bridges. The use of structural finger jointed timber may be limited to certain service classes in some member states. It also lays down minimum
40、production provisions and procedures for Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance for structural finger jointed timber. This European Standard is applicable to structural finger jointed timber made of coniferous timber species listed in this standard or poplar. Although it may be poss
41、ible to produce structural finger jointed timber made from specific broadleaf species based on some provisions of this European Standard, this standard is not applicable to these products. This European Standard is only applicable to finger joints between timber sections of the same species. This Eu
42、ropean Standard does not cover impressed (die-formed) finger joints. This European Standard covers structural finger jointed timber untreated or treated against biological attack.
