27、ements for construction and performance 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in EN 16256-1 apply. 4 Categories 4.1 General Articles are categorised into two categories as follows: Category T1: Articles for stage use which present a low hazard and
28、 which are intended for indoor and outdoor use. NOTE 1 Some T1 articles are restricted for outdoor use only and denoted as T1 for outdoor use only. Category T2: Articles for stage use which are intended for use only by persons with specialist knowledge. NOTE 2 The term stage use includes film and te

33、 for outdoor use only if it fulfils that categorisation criteria. Otherwise it shall be categorised as T2. The categorisation of the article as T1, T1 for outdoor use only or T2 is based on the requirements for construction and performance specified in EN 16256-3. A manufacturer or importer may deci
34、de to categorise an article as T1 for outdoor use only or T2 even though it meets the requirements for construction and performance specified in EN 16256-3, for a lower hazard category. 4.3 Category T2 All articles default to category T2, if they do not fulfil the requirements for construction and p
35、erformance specified in EN 16256-3 regarding the categories T1 or T1 for outdoor use only. Even though an article may fulfil the requirements for construction and performance specified in EN 16256-3 regarding the categories T1 or T1 for outdoor use only a manufacturer may choose to categorise the ar
36、ticle to be category T2. NOTE A person with specialist knowledge can handle and/or use articles labelled T1 or T1 for outdoor use only in a different manner to that prescribed on the label or within the instructions for use, provided that they have taken due consideration of the hazards and risks th
37、at any deviations they make might have. A person with specialist knowledge is expected to have the knowledge to make use of T1 products in a different manner to those prescribed on the label or the instructions. 42、d the Essential Requirements of EU Directive 2007/23/EC on the placing on the market of pyrotechnic articles This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association to provide a means of conforming to Essential Requirem
43、ents of the New Approach Directive 2007/23/EC on the placing on the market of pyrotechnic articles. The Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Standard will support Part 5 to fulfil the Essential Requirements of the Directive 2007/23/EC Annex 1. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the Europea
44、n Union under that Directive and has been implemented as a national standard in at least one Member State, compliance with the normative clauses of this standard confers, within the limits of the scope of this standard, a presumption of conformity with the relevant Essential Requirements of that Directive and associated EFTA regulations.
