27、2-70-04:2014 (E) 5 Introduction The deleterious effects to be anticipated during the thermal cycling test under vacuum include: outgassing, cracking or fracture of materials or assemblies due to sudden dimensional changes by expansion, contraction or pressure, short circuiting of electrical wiring,
28、overheating of materials or assemblies due to change in convection and conductive heat transfer characteristics. DIN EN 16602-70-04:2015-01 EN 16602-70-04:2014 (E) 6 1 Scope This Standard establishes the requirements for the specification, the procedures, the execution and the reporting of a thermal
29、 cycling test under vacuum for the evaluation of materials, processes, mechanical parts and assemblies intended for use in the fabrication of spacecraft and associated equipment. This is one of the tests to determine the ability of theses articles to withstand changes of ambient temperature under va
30、cuum. Typical materials or assemblies that can be evaluated by means of this test method are listed below. adhesives; adhesive bonded joints; coatings (paint, thermal and protective); insulating materials; metallic bonded joints; metallic samples, finished by plating or chemical conversion; metalliz
31、ed plastic films; organic or non-organic bonding; plated surfaces; potting compounds; reinforced structural laminates; sealants. NOTE This is not an exhaustive list and other products or items can be tested. This standard may be tailored for the specific characteristic and constrains of a space proj

38、 space materials and processes is to submit the item to be tested (materials, processes, mechanical parts or assemblies) to a certain number of thermal cycles, oscillating within an defined temperature range in order to anticipate and to evaluate the resistance to deleterious effects as: outgassing,
39、 cracking or fracture of materials or assemblies due to sudden dimensional changes by expansion, contraction or pressure, short circuiting of electrical wiring, overheating of materials or assemblies due to change in convection and conductive heat transfer characteristics. For this purpose the activ
40、ities related to thermal cycling tests requirements, specifications, procedures and reports are described in Figure 4-1 and the related requirements are captured in clause 5. Clause 5.2 and 5.3 provide the requirements for preparing, performing, reco
43、rding and reporting a thermal cycling test. DIN EN 16602-70-04:2015-01 EN 16602-70-04:2014 (E) 11 5 Requirements 5.1 Specifying test 5.1.1 General provision a. The customer shall provide a request for thermal test in conformance with the DRD in Annex A. b. ECSS-Q-ST-20 shall be made applicable in th
44、e request for thermal cycling test. c. ECSS-Q-ST-10-09 shall be made applicable in the request for thermal cycling test. d. For safety and security, the test centre shall comply with ECSS-Q-ST-20-07, clause 9. NOTE Examples of safety issues are “hazard” and “health”. An example for security issues i
45、s “access control”. e. The supplier shall provide a thermal cycling test proposal in conformance with the DRD in Annex B for customer approval. 5.1.2 Specifying the test means 5.1.2.1 Facilities a. The work area shall be nominally clean with minimum dust, but not necessarily a cleanroom environment.
46、 b. Air used for ventilation shall be nominally filtered to prevent contamination of the sample. c. The ambient conditions for the process and work areas shall be (22 3) C with a relative humidity of (55 10) %. 5.1.2.2 Equipment a. The supplier shall specify the list of the equipment necessary to se
47、t up and run the approved test procedures. NOTE If the test procedure proposed in Annex D is executed by the supplier, the corresponding DIN EN 16602-70-04:2015-01 EN 16602-70-04:2014 (E) 12 equipment specification is described in Annex E. 5.1.3 Specifying the thermal cycling test procedures 5.1.3.1
48、 Test procedures a. The test procedures shall address the test conditions control and monitoring of: 1. temperature, 2. vacuum, 3. contamination. b. The test procedure for controlling and monitoring the temperature shall contain the following information: 1. sample temperatures measurement and recor
49、ding methods, 2. temperature data acquisition during testing. NOTE There is a difference between real sample temperature and temperature of the holder. c. The test procedure for controlling and monitoring the vacuum shall contain the following information: 1. sample vacuum and residual atmosphere measurements and recording methods, 2. pressure data acquisition during testing. d.
