5、s the decimal marker. National foreword This document (EN 16712-1:2015) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 192 “Fire and Rescue Service Equipment” (Secretariat: BSI, United Kingdom). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was DIN-Normenausschuss Feuerwehrwesen (DIN Stan

6、dards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection), Working Committee NA 031-04-04 AA . The inductor for foam concentrates is a fitting which forms part of the fire-fighting water conveyor component and is used to produce fire-extinguishing foam. Using the Venturi principle, the inductor sucks in the

7、 foam concentrate and induces it into a water flow to produce extinguishing water at a predetermined ratio. In addition to the legal units of measurement, this standard also uses the unit “inch”. It is important to note that according to the German law on units in metrology, the use of these units i

8、s not permitted in official or business communications within Germany. 11、tain requirements specifying the type of coupling to be connected to hoses as no European Standard dealing with the connection of firefighting hoses currently exists. Orders for couplings are thus subject to individual agreement between parties. To ensure the compatibility of all components of water

12、 systems for fire extinguishing in Germany, these have been brought in line with the specifications from DIN 14384, the standard that has been valid until now. Other components such as branchpipes, pick-up tubes and delivery hoses should be taken into account (see Figure 2 as example of installation). 30、ndard defines requirements and tests which apply to inductors PN 16 which are used to proportion foam concentrate or other additives to the water stream and work using the Venturi principle. 1.2 This European Standard is not applicable to inductors which are integrated in self-inducting foam branchp

44、d a regulating device: Inductor EN 167121 Z 2R 6 Material Inductors shall be made of materials (with or without coatings) whose surfaces and function are not affected by the extinguishing agents or the environment in which they operate. Depending on special application of the inductor (e.g. fire-fig

45、hting on sea-going vessels, disinfection etc.), the list of appropriate materials to be used (e.g. metal, plastic) shall be agreed upon between the manufacturer and the customer. The materials used shall be selected so that all the requirements in Clause 7 are met, subject to the tests defined in th

46、is European Standard. 7 Requirements and verification 7.1 General All the tests defined in this European Standard are type tests. The tests shall be carried out according to Figure 1 and Figure 3, using water in place of foam concentrate and pressure gauges according to EN 837-1 or EN 837-3; accurac

47、y class 2, and under the following conditions: water and air temperature between 5 C and 30 C. NOTE Guidance for acceptance tests on delivery is given in Annex A.
