The responsible German body involved in its preparation was DIN-Normenausschuss Werkzeuge und Spannzeuge (DIN Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices), Working Committee NA 121-01-12 AA “Turning- and drilling tools with detachable and not detachable cutting edges made of hard cutting

11、 materials”. In addition to the legal units of measurement, this standard also uses the unit “in” (inch), the use of which is not allowed in Germany. It should be noted that the Gesetz ber Einheiten im Messwesen (German Law on units in metrology) prohibits the use of this unit for official and comme

12、rcial purposes in Germany. The indication of this unit solely serves to facilitate the communication with those countries where this unit is used (import-export business). 24、ed.DIN ISO 1832:2017-06 5 1 ScopeThis document establishes a code for the designation of the usual types of indexable inserts for cutting tools in hard cutting materials or any other cutting materials, in order to simplify orders and specifications for such inserts.It also specifies the designations

Symbols and may be used when n

30、ecessary.For tipped inserts in accordance with ISO 16462 and ISO 16463, the designation code comprises 12 symbols for designating the dimensions and other characteristics; symbols to as well as and shall be used in every designation. 40、0 R M 028 .The designations and symbols of the different angles allowing geometrical definition of the indexable inserts shall conform with ISO 3002-1, with the following conventions: the insert is considered in the tool-in-hand system; the reference plane, Pr, is parallel to the base of the insert;

41、 the assumed working plane, Pf, is perpendicular to the reference plane, Pr, and is parallel to the assumed direction of feed motion.
