SCOPE. This commercial item description cov
2、ers the requirements for stretch type, ribbed knit, cotton/nylon, and polyester socks. liner in a sock system by personnel of the Department of Defense. 3、Type II - Polyester/nylon/spandex or rubber (Liner or Dress) 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Description. 3.1.1 Type I. The socks shall be seamless, circular 1 X 1 mock or true rib knit, stretch type with a ribbed elastic top, fabricated on a 132-240 needle machine or a equivalent process, and suitab

The socks shall be circular knitted, wit
6、h a ribbed elastic top, a reciprocated heel and standard flat toe seam. The socks shall be knit on a 3-3/4 inch or 4 inch diameter, single or double cylinder, not less than 132 needles for appearance. 3.2 Material. 3.2.1 TvDe I. The total fiber percentages shall be a minimum of 78% polyester for coolness, a maximum of 2% spandex or rubber for fitness and if needed, the remaining fiber type shall be nylon. Th

The elastic top for the Type I sock shall be a true 1 by 1 ribbed knit made with an elastic yarn, or cotton yarn consisting of a spandex core with a stretch type inner and outer cover, and finished with a turn-over, non-raveling welt, and free from loose ends. The elastic top
10、 for the Type II socks is a 2 inch 1 X 1 mock or true rib knit by 3-1/2 inches wide. 3.4 Color. The color of the Type I and II socks shall be black as specified. 3.5 Sizes and measurements. The finished socks shall conform to the sizes below as identify by National Association Of Hosiery Manufacture

The leg material of the finished socks shall have a ball bursting strength
17、of not less than 85 pounds when tested in accordance with ASTM D3787. 3.7 Label/markinq. Each sock shall have a size marking applied just below the instep and centered between the ankle and toe. The color of the marking shall be white. Each pair of socks shall have a commercial-type label containing
18、 the contractors name, contract number and National Stock Number (NSN) . 3.7.1 Washins instructions. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and conforms
22、to the producers standards and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 Visual examination. Each sock shall be examined for the defects listed below: Defects. Any hole,
23、cut, or tear; any degree of degradation of the elastic top; any thin areas, mends, frayed, or raveled; color shall not have a heather effect; noticeable variation in shade between two socks of a pair; noticeable variation in size (length and width) in a pair; knit construction of sock not as specifi
24、ed; any spot or stain (outside); any run or drop stitches, including holes looping or seaming; any material defects, distorted parts or poor workmanship; any component part omitted; marking missing, incorrect, or illegible; measurement of item not as specified; bar code omitted or not readable by sc
25、anner; human-readable interpretation (HRI) omitted or illegible; bar code not visible on folded, packaged item; bar code causes damage to the item; any items not packaged in accordance with the contract or purchase order. 5.3 Acceptance criteria. Acceptance criteria shall be as specified in the cont
