3、zed the use of this commercial item description for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) establishes the government acquisition requirements for suspension mounted spring scales to be used as accurate weighing instruments. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The scales shall be clas
4、sified by the classes and sizes listed in table I. The selected class (see 7.4(b) and size (see 7.4(c) to be supplied shall be specified in the acquisition order. 2.1 Class 1. Class 1 scales shall be tubular with a flat front or recessed dial. 2.2 Class 2. Class 2 scales shall be heavy duty with a g

The scale shall consist of a calibrated tension spring with a load indicator connected to a shaft extendi
7、ng from one end of the housing. The dial face may be either a linear type or a round type. A load receiving element (hook) shall be attached to the end of the shaft. A method of suspension shall be integrated with the top of housing. 3.2 Materials. The housing shall be of steel, brass, or plastic in
8、 accordance with the manufacturers standard commercial product. 3.3 Tolerances. Tolerances shall be as specified in table II. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Product conformance. The prod
11、ucts provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conf
12、ormance. 5.2 Market acceptability. The products offered must have been previously sold either to the government or on the commercial market. 6. PACKAGING. 6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking.
