This commercial item description (CID) covers foot valves used in suction pipeline systems for transporting water and light petroleum distillates. Salient characteristics. consisting of a valve body, tri
3、m and strainer. in one direction only and shall close tightly to prevent flow in the opposite direction. or jar. 25 pounds per square inch (psi) and an internal test pressure of 125 psi. iron flanged foot valves shall be in accordance with ANSI B16.1. Bronze and PVC valves shall withstand a working
4、pressure of 150 psi and an internal test pressure of 300 psi. End connections shall be internally threaded for brass valves. PVC valves shall have threaded, flanged, or solvent-welded end connections. Flanges shall conform to ANSI B16.24. Foot valves shall be of the poppet design, Valves shall permi

11、e considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard FED-STD-376, and all other requirements of this CID are met. If a product is manufactured to metr
12、ic dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. Regulatory reauirements, recovered
