SCOPE. This commercial item description covers requirements for a felt hat with chin
2、strap intended for wear by male military personnel of the Department of Defense. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 Salient characteristics. The hat shall be of fiir felt in campaign style with “Montana“ peak crown having a leather chin strap with sliding keeper and buckle. The hat shall have a double t
3、hick, stiff, flat brim 3 inches wide. Each hat shall have grosgrain ribbon and bow trim, securely sewn with concealed hand stitching, four round eyelets in the crown for ventilation and two oblong eyelets in the brim for the chin strap. The eyelets shall be made of brass and enameled, in a shade clo
4、sely matching the shade of the hat. 2.2 Material 2.2. The sweatband shaii be fill grain, vegetable-tanned leather
5、 The sweatband shall not be less than 1-1/2 inches wide, 9128 inch thick, and shall be brown or black in shade. An oil sifk or plastic interlining not less han 1 inch wide shall be Pgzag-sewn between the sweatband and the hat. The ends of the sweatband shall be butted with zigzag or other ornamenta
6、l ofbet stitch type. 2.2.4 Chin stra. with keeper. Each hat shall have a black leather chin strap and keeper. The chin strap shall be approximately 29 inches long by 318 inch wide with finished (black dyed) edges. The chin strap shall be thick enough to weigh 4.5 to 5.5 ounces. The and in accordance

QUALITYASSURANCE Characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of su

Reliance on contractor quality assuranm systems shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or.supplies submitted to the Governme
9、nt for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. 4.2 Visualexamination. Each hat shall be examined for the defects listed below in color not as specified; any part shaded; any spot or stab (outside); raw edges, open seams, thread ends not removed; or loose tension resulting in loose s
10、eams; any material defects, distorted parts or poor workmanship; any component part omitted; label missing, incorrect, or illegible; measurement of item not as specified; bar code omitted or not readable by scanner, human-readable interpretation (HRI) omitted or illegible; bar code not visible on fo
11、lded, packaged item; bar code causes damage to the item; any items not packaged in accordance with the contract or purchase order. 4.4 Market acceotabiiitv criteria. The item offered must have been sold to the commercial market or to the Government, and the contractor shall certie and provide suppor
12、ting documentation as to its serviceability and the long tem (five years) availability of all necessary maintenance and logistics support parts and materiais. 4.5 Warrantv. The item offered shall include the standard warranty given to the commercial market beginning with the date of delivery of the
