SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) cov
2、ers two colors of sandbags manufactured entirely of acrylic fiber, for use in field fortifications, ammunition bunkers, and gun emplacements. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The sandbags shall be classified as follows (see 7.2): Color 1 - Camouflage Green 383 Color 2 - Tan 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 3.1 Physica
3、l form. The sandbag shall be manufactured from acrylic woven fabric, closed on two sides and the bottom, with an affixed tie string for closing the top after filling. The sandbags shall be of one-piece construction with either a sewn or woven side seam and bottom, or a combination thereof; tubular w
4、oven (sock form) sandbags shall have no side seams, but shall have a sewn bottom. The sandbags shall have nominal inside dimensions of 26 k i1/4 inches long and 14 k l/2 inches wide. 3.2 Color. The sandbags shall be either of the colors indicated in Section 2. Color 1, Camouflage Green 383, shall be

7、he sandbags shall resist damage when dropped onto an unyielding surface. 3.3.1 Breakage test. The sandbags shall be tested for breakage as follows. Fill the sandbag with 44 pounds k l/2 pound (approximately 760 cubic inches) of clean, dry sand and knot the tie string firmly about the choke. Adjust t
8、he contents of the bag to form a shape about 4 inches by 10 inches by 20 inches before each drop. Drop the bag (free fall) from a height of 48 inches on one face, on one side seam or the folded area where the seam would normally be located on a tubular bag, and on the butt onto a hard, unyielding su
9、rface such as stone or concrete of sufficient mass to absorb the shock without deflection. Every fourth sandbag tested shall be dropped (free fall) on the tied (choke) end in lieu of the butt drop. After each drop, the sandbag shall be examined for visual evidence of damage such as tears, punctures,
10、 broken yarns or threads, or exposure of the contents by any means other than sifting. Slight slippage or yawning in the seams shall not be considered damage. Visible evidence of damage shall constitute failure of this test. 3.4 Durability. The sandbags shall be bio-deterioration resistant and ultra
11、violet light resistant. Due to their durability, these sandbags are not recommended for temporary flood control where easy destruction and rapid deterioration of bag fabrics are desired after flood danger has passed. 3.5 Workmanship. The sandbags shall be free of holes, tears, punctures, and other d
12、efects which may affect serviceability. The sandbags shall be both dry and flexible and shall be uniform in appearance. Individual bags shall be uniform in color. The seams shall be straight and even. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 4.1 Recycled materials. The offerorkontractor is encouraged to use reco
13、vered materials to the maximum extent practical, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Product conformance. The product provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings,
14、specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 Market acceptability. The item offered must have been previously sold to the Government or the co
