Classification. The mens and womens heavy

2、 duty leather work gloves shall be of one type. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS Description. The gloves shall be a slip-on, half inseamed, all leather, gunncut design with a buckle strap closure on the back of the wrist and a leather reinforcement covering the palm. The seam at the base of the fingers shall

3、 be provided with a leather reinforcement welt turned up to cover the stitching as shown in figure 1. The curved fingertips of the four fingers shall be shirred on the palm side prior to the closing operations. The buckles shall be 5/8 inch, double bar, tongueless, lip type and shall conform to type

4、 II, style 3, class 3 requirements of MIL-B-543. 9、usirig t.wo ground warps (face and back), a binder warp, and filling. The face warp shall weave plain weave with picks that show an the face. The back warp chll weave plain with the picks that show on the back. The hinder warp ends shall weave one up and one down. When latch type shuttleless looms a

10、re utilized, the filling yarn shall i-raverse the full width of the tape and shall be held at the edge by an ext.ra catch-cord end interlacing with the filling yarn. When bobbin type shuttleless looms are utilized, interlacing of the catch-cord and filling shall occur within the selvage area before

11、the first binder end. The weight of the tape shall be 0.21 ounce per linear yard minimum. The minimum yarns for the full width shall be 61 for the face and back warp, and 13 for the binder warp. For the filling, the tape shall have 42 yarns per inch (i yarn per shed) of 20/2 ply, or 84 yarns per inc

12、h (2 yarns per shed) of 40/2 ply. The minimuin breaking strength of the warp for full width shall be 16/2, and 20/2 for the binder. The full grain cattlehide shall conform to all reuuirements of type II, class A or B of MIL-L-40051 excluding the thickness requirements. The full grain horsehide shall confo

14、rm to all requirements of type VI1 of KK-L-2004, except for thickness. Only split cattlehide leather shall be used for the back piece of the glove designs II and III as an alternative to the full grain leather. The split cattlehide shall conform to all requirements of type VI11 of KK-L-2004 except t

15、hat the split leather shall also conform to the colorfastness requirements specified for type V pf KK-L-2004, excluding the thickness requirements. The color of the leather shall be cream. The thickness of the parts of the finished gloves, except the welts, shall be not less than 3.1 ounces nor more

16、 than 4.0 ounces. The thickness of the leather welt strap and the thumb welt shall be not less than 2.0 nor more than 4.0 ounces. The gloves shall be paired with left and right hands of matching design style and corresponding leather types. Label. Each glove shall have a combination size and identif

17、ication label and the label shall show fastness to laundering transference. When cattlehide is used, the nomenclature in the label shall be Gloves, Heavy Duty, Cattlehide. When horsehide is used, the nomenclature in the label shall be Gloves, Heavy Duty, Horsehide. The label shall include the contra

18、ct number, National Stock No., and contractors name in addition to the size of the glove. A Printed slip of thin paper containing instructions as indicated below shall be inserted in each right-hand glove: WEARING INSTRUCTIONS In cold weather wear gloves over glove inserts, cold weather. In warm wea

19、ther the glove without the insert is sufficient. Fit gloves snugly but not tightly over glove inserts. Adjust strap for fit. Gloves and glove inserts are available in five sizes: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Wash gloves in mild soap and lukewarm water or dry-clean them. Dry gloves and glove inserts away from

20、extreme heat or flame. Use for heavy work (construction, stevedoring, etc.). When conditions require chemical protective handwear to be worn the leather gloves are to be worn over the chemical protective handwear to provide maximum durability. Thread. The gloves shall be sewn with a natural color th

21、read conforming to type II, class A, size F of V-T-295. As alternative, natural color polyester thread conforming to type II, class 1, subclass A, size A, size F of V-T-285 may be used. 24、inger. Workmanship. After completion, the finished glove shall be thoroughly cleaned, and all loose thread, lint, and foreign matter removed. Product Demonstration Model. When required, of ferers shall submit two (2) pairs of gloves of their intended production. The Product Demonstration Model will

25、consist of units independently developed. Product Demonstration Models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Evaluation criteria and basis for award are contained in the solicitation. Product Demonstration Models will be retained by the government. One (1) Product Demonstration Model app

26、roved by DPSC under the resultant contract will serve as a manufacturing standard for the corresponding production items delivered under this contract. Offerers are advised that the Product Demonstration Model does not relieve the successful offerer of his responsibility to perform in accordance wit

The supplier is responsible for assuring the product conforms to the requirements. Glove lots will be inspected to det

28、ermine conformance with the Commercial Item Description and the successful offerers technical proposal as negotiated. Acceptability of glove lots will be determined by the use of “Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes“, ANSI 21.4, published by the American Society for Quality C

29、ontrol. Sampling procedures will be designated by the Government at the time of award. The sample unit is one glove and the sample size shall be drawn in pairs. Leather inspection shall be performed in accordance with FED-STD-311. Defects. The gloves shall be examined for the following defects: any

30、hole, cut, tear, color not as specified; any spot or stain (outside); thread ends not removed; label missing, incorrect, or illegible; measurement of item not as specified; not properly mated (i.e., right and left not of same size); not full grain (applies to all parts except when cattlehide splits

31、are used for design II and III back piece), not soft and pliable, grain damage or imperfections; leather improperly cut (i.e., excessive stretch in length direction, leather-flanky, loose or spongy, bony or thin spots); any component missing, not securely affixed or workmanship damage (i.e. crooked

32、finger or glove inadequately formed, etc.); any open seams (when one or more stitches joining a seam are broken) or needle chews likely to develop into a hole. 33、letization Packaging, packing, marking and palletization shall be in accordance with ASTM-D 3951, Standard Practice for Commercial Packaging, as specified for shipments to the Department of Defense, including Section 7. Each pair of gloves, of one size only shall be stacked with every pair reversed

34、end to end. One hundred and twenty pairs of gloves shall be packed in a snug fitting fiberboard box, class domestic style RSC-L, grade 275. Note: Each shipping container shall contain only one National Stock Number (NSN). Unitized loads, placing boxes on pallets, shall be used whenever total quantit

35、y for shipment to one destination exceeds 250 pounds (excluding the pallet) or 20 cubic feet. Pallets shall have a length of 40 inches and a width of 48 inches. Pallet loads, including the pallet, shall not exceed 54 inches in height, 43 inches in length and 52 inches in width. The containers shall
