Abstract. This Commercial Item Description covers an ambidextrous, knitted glove insert, to be
2、worn for added warmth with glove shells for cold weather and is intended for wear by Defense Department personnel. Classification. The classes: Type 1 Type II Class 1 Class 2 gloves shall be in the following types and - Non-automatic construction - Automatic construction - Camouflage Green 483 - Gra
3、y 1155 Salient character,st,cs. The glove inserts shall be ambidextrous design with knitted hands, fingers and thumbs. gloves except the cuffs shall be knit seamless with a plain (jersey) stitch. The cuffs for type I construction shall be a true 1 x 1 rib knit. The cuffs for type II construction sha
4、ll be a mock rib knit and have two elastic (spandex) yarns inserted around the top edge of the cuff. The two elastic yarns shall be overedged. The yarn shall be a wool-nylon blend, mixed, carded, spun a
8、nd twisted into the counts and turns per inch specified in Table I: Table I. The use of noils, card fly, card stripping, reused wool, reprocessed wool, fiber obtained from knitting clips, garnette
10、d hard ends, and similar waste is prohibited. Nylon. The nylon shall be 6 denier virgin nylon, crimped and cut to a staple length of not less than 2-3/8 inches nor more than 3- 1/8 inches. Non-fibrous materials. The finished glove inserts shall contain not more than 3.0 percent starch and protein co

The wool/nylon blended portion
12、 of the finished glove inserts (based on a dry, extracted and desized basis) . shall contain not less than 25% percent nor more than 32% nylon with the remainder all wool and shall be in accordance with Test Method 2611 of FED-STD-191. Thread. For type I construction, the thread for sewing (closing)
13、 the tips of the thumb and fingers shall be polyester, spun, class 1 or 2 of MIL-T-43624. Ticket No. 50, 3 ply shall be used as the needle thread and ticket No. 70, 3 ply shall be used as the looper thread. For type II construction in overedging the top of the cuff, the thread for the needle and one
14、 of the loopers shall be polyester, cotton-covered, ticket No. 70, 2 ply conforming to A-A-50199. The same yarn used to knit the inserts, except that it will be one end of singles 15s, shall be used in the other looper so that the yarn is on the outside edge of the cuff. Color. The color of the glov
15、e insert shall be Camouflage Green 483. The thread shall be dyed Camouflage Green 483 for the class 1 glove insert and Medium Gray AV C.A. 66062 for the class 2 glove insert. The glove insert including thread shall show fastness to laundering and perspiration equal to or better than the standard sam
16、ple. When no sample is available, the thread shall show good fastness to laundering and perspiration. The color shall match the standard sample when viewed under filtered tungsten lamps which approximate artificial having a correlated color temperature of 7500 the inspection level shall be S-3 and t
