Scope. trousers protector. Th
2、e protectors are intended to worn with the leather pistol holster by military police of the Marine Corps and part of the Marine police equipment set. This commercial item description covers the requirements for one type and size 2. Salient Characteristics The trouser protector shall consist of two p
3、ieces of basic material each for the body, pistol holster side retainer and bottom support, stitched together with binding. The raw edges of the item shall be bound stitched (type 304) with cotton tape, (see Figure 1). The two pieces for the side retainer shall be bound together with cotton tape at
4、the top and bottom. The bottom support pieces shall be bound together at the top raw edge. The two curvature body pieces shall be bound starting at the top and continuing around the entire protector with the side retainer and the bottom support positioned on the front part a notches and each caught
5、in the binding (See Figure 1). Two grommets shall be provided for attaching the protector to the pistol holster. The finished protector shall be in accordance with the dimension stated on Figure 1 and capable of being worn with the leather pistol holster. Beneficial comments, recommendations, additi

8、bed 1x1 yarn. As an alternate; cloth, twill, polyester/cotton 6.8 ounce white shade 3053 may be used. 2.1.2 Tape. The tape for binding the raw edges of the protector shall be cotton; bleached, 5/8 inch wide stay bindings, herring bone twill weave. 2.1.3 Grommets Grommets with washers shall be brass,
9、 plain type, bright finish 2.1.4 Thread. The thread shall be cotton conforming to A-A-52094, soft finish, bleached white, ticket No. 40, 3 ply for all seaming and stitching. As an alternate thread: Polyester, cotton covered; white shade, size 70 may be used. 2.2 Shade marking. The component parts sh
10、all be marked to insure a uniform shade throughout the protector. Any method of shade marking may be used except: (a) Corrosive metal devices, (b) Adhesive type tickets which show discoloration or leaves traces of paper or adhesive mass to the material upon removal of the tickets. 2.3 Patterns. The
11、government shall furnish pattern. The pattern generally provides for a seam allowance of 1/8 inch for joining seams. Commercial patterns may be used in lieu of the government-furnished pattern provided they conform to the cited design and finished measurements. 2.4 Sizes and Measurements. The finish
12、ed protector shall conform to the measurements on Figure 1. 2.5 Workmanship. After completion, the finished protector shall be thoroughly cleaned and all loose thread, and foreign matter removed. The item shall be free from irregularities or defects which adversely affect appearance, performance, re
13、liability or durability, such as cuts, holes or damaged material, incomplete stitch closures, improper taping, 1 oose straps, skipped stitching, damaged, omitted on inadequate stapling of grommets and washers. 3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. The offeor/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISISONS 4.1 Certification. The products provide
15、d shall meet the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market place. The Government reserves the right to require proof
16、of such conformance. 4.2 Product Demonstration Model. When required, offerers shall submit samples of their intended production. The Product Demonstration Model will consist of units independently developed. Product Demonstration Models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Evaluation cr
17、iteria and basis for award are contained in the solicitation. Product Demonstration Models will be retained by the government. One (1) Product Demonstration Model approved by DSCP under the resultant contract will serve as a manufacturing standard for the corresponding production items delivered und
18、er this contract, Offerers are advised that the Product Demonstration Model does not relieve the successful offerer of his responsibility to perform in accordance with the Commercial Item Description specified above. 4.3 Examination. Trouser Protector lots shall be inspected in accordance with “samp
19、ling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes“, ANSVASQC Z1.4, published by the American Society for Quality Control and shall be inspected for the defects listed below: 4.3.1 Defects. The protector shall be examined for the following defects: any hole, cut, tear, color not as specified; a
20、ny spot or stain (outside); thread ends not removed any part shaded; tape not tightly woven, frayed edges improperly or loosely applied, ends not overlapped, Grommets with washers broken, split/ malformed, misplaced or omitted, not securely clinched, clinched to tightly, improperly set, location not
21、 within specified tolerance, not proper size specified; seamdstitching open, broken or skipped stitches, wrong seam or stitch type, loose tension, puckering of fabric on seams, measurement of item not as specified; bar code omitted or not readable by scanner; human-readable interpretation (HRI) omit
22、ted or illegible; bar code not visible on folded, packaged item; bar code causes damage to the item; any items not packaged in accordance with the contract or purchase order. 4.4 Acceptance criteria.
