Abstract. This document covers a dyed cotton glove for use to protect the
2、hands and wrists from vesicants. The glove shall be a full inseamed, slip-on, seamless palm, Gunn style glove. The seam at the base of the fingers shall be provided with a reinforcement welt turned up to cover the stitching. long knitted wristlet is inseam sewn to top of the hand portion of the glov
3、e. Unless the gloves are impregnated with an antivesicant material no protection will be provided. Salient characteristics. sizes Small, Medium and Large. The fabric for the hand portion and welt shall be dyed, cotton, plain (jersey) knit. The fabric shall be napped (fleeced) on the back and be able

Seams and stitchinq A lockstitch or cha
9、institch shall be used to join finger pieces to palm with inserted 1/2 inch welt and inseam, with one row of stitching 1/8 to 3/16 inch from cut edge. The closing shall also be done with a lockstitch or chainstitch joining the front and back together with one row of stitches 1/8 to 3/16 inch from th
10、e cut edge. The cuff is to be attached using a chainstitch by joining the cut ends of the double thickness wrist tubing to hand inseaming with one row of stitching 3/16 to 1/4 inch from cut edge completely around and continuing the stitching by at least 1 inch beyond the beginning and leaving 1/2 to
11、 3/4 inch chain at point of run-off. Ends of closing stitches of hand wrist shall be caught in cuff stitching. There shall be 10 - 14 stitches per inch. The dyed fabrics shall show no more labile sulfur than shown by the standard sample, when tested as specified in FED-STD-191 method 2020. Matchinq. The color of the finished

18、 material in the finished fabric shall not exceed 3.0 percent when tested as specified in FED-STD-191 method 2611. Label/markinq. Each glove shall be marked with a combination identification and size label by direct printing, stamping or stenciling. The marking medium shall be an approved black ink.

The marking shall show good fastness to laundering when tested in accordance with AATCC No. 61 Test IVA. Label/taq. Each item shall be individually bar-coded with the type VIII, class 17 label/tag of
21、 DDD-L-20. This label/tag shall be located so that it is completely visible on the item when it is folded and/or packaged as specified and causes no damage to the item. Patterns. The government shall furnish a single size pattern. The contractor is responsible for grading patterns for additional siz
22、es. The pattern generally provides for a seam allowance of 1/8 inch for joining seams. Commercial patterns may be used in lieu of the government furnished pattern provided they conform to the cited design and finished measurements. WorkmanshiD. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and other requirements of this description and that the product con

The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Reliance on contrac
