5、ARACTERISTICS 3.1 DescriDtion. The tunic shall have short sleeves, with a princess style line front and back; slide fastener front closure with an open neck collar, or a button front closure with a lapel collar; and two lower front pockets, All visible seams shall be clean finished (See Figure 1). 3
6、.2 Basic material. The material for the tunic shall be a blend of cotton and polyester, twill or plain weave, durable press, having a minimum of 35 percent cotton and the remainder polyester. The cloth “ shall weigh a minimum of 5 ounces per square yard, and the color shall be bleached optical white
7、. The cloth shall have a minimum breaking strength of 140 pounds in the warp direction, and 70 pounds in the filling direction when tested in accordance with ASTM D-5034. The cloth shall have a minimum warp and filling tearing strength of 5.0 pounds when tested in accordance with ASTM D-1424. The ma
8、ximum shrinkage or elongation shall be 2.0 percent in both warp and filling direction when tested in accordance with AATCC 124. 3.2.1 Slide fastener. The slide fastener shall be polyester, continuous monofilament, separating, with top stops and automatic lock. The color of the slide fastener tape an
9、d components shall be a white to approximate the basic cloth, and the bottom of the slide fastener closure shall end not less than three inches from the bottom hem. 3.2.2 Buttons and buttonholes. The buttons shall be plastic, size 25-30 line, 4-liole, white or pearlescent white. They shall be sewn s
10、ecurely to the left front to correspond with buttonholes. buttonholes shall be straight cut or whip type and shall be cut so that they fit securely over the buttons. The 3.2.3 Thread and stitching. The thread shall be white, in 3.3 Labels. Each tunic shall contain a commercial-type accordance with t
11、ype I or type II, Ticket Nos. 50 and 70 of A-A-50199. identification label (containing the item name, contract number, and contractors name), size label, and a fiber content and care instruction label. The labels may be combined. The labels shall be located inside at center back and caught in the st
12、itching joining the collar to the tunic. The label marking shall have sufficient fastness to prevent bleeding and to ensure that the label remains legible after, laundering. 3.4 Label/taq. Each item shall be individually bar-coded with a paper tag for personal clothing items. The paper tag shall be
13、standard bleached sulfate having a basis weight of 100 pounds.
