SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This document covers a leather waist-typ
2、e apron and is intended to be used by carpenters. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. The apron shall be a waist-type with attached pockets. The pockets shall be made of heavy duty split leather. The apron shall have two large pockets plus a smaller pocket attached to the front of each large pocket. It shal
3、l have a minimum of six other smaller pockets, pouches or holders to accommodate pliers, punches, nail sets, pencils, and other small tools. There shall be two leather hammer loops and a center pocket between the large pockets for a 25 foot tape measure. The tops of the two large and two smaller poc
4、kets shall be rolled over to the outside of the pockets and stitched down. The apron pockets shall be double stitched using nylon thread and rivet reinforced throughout. The apron shall have a 2 to 2-1/4 inch wide polypropylene army pistol-type webbing belt capable of being adjusted to waist sizes o
5、f at least 32 inches to 48 inches. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Certification. The contractor shall certif
8、y and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description; conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices; and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial market
9、place. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 4.2 Market acceptability. The following market acceptability criteria are necessary to document the quality
10、of the product to be provided under this commercial item description. The company offering the item must have been producing the model being tendered under the contract or purchase order or generically similar models for at least three years. The company must have produced at least 1000 generically
11、similar or identical models to that being tendered. The item offered must have been sold to the commercial market or to the Government, and the contractor shall certify and provide supporting documentation as to its serviceability and the long term (five years) availability of all necessary maintena
12、nce and logistics support parts and materials. 4.3 Warranty. The item offered shall include the standard warranty given to the commercial market beginning with the date of delivery of the individual items. 4.4. Defects. The apron shall be examined for wrong style, inferior materials, and workmanship
13、 defects: inferior leather; distortion of product; wrinkles, pleats or excess fullness in linings; rivets poorly clinched, operation not properly performed; any hole, cut, tear, spot or stain (outside); label (when required) missing; required markings missing, incorrect, or illegible; measurements (
14、when required) not as specified; bar code omitted or not readable by scanner; human-readable interpretation (HRI) omitted or illegible; bar-coded type not as specified; code density not as specified; bar code not visible on folded, packaged item; bar code causes damage to the item; any items not pac
