ABSTRACT This commercial
2、item description (CID) covers the requirements for window mount air conditioning units. The units described herein shall be capable of delivering conditioned air to enclosed spaces. All air conditioning units offered shall include a source of refrigeration for cooling and dehumidification, and a sou
3、rce for circulating and cleaning the air. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS Sizes, caDacities, electrical characteristics, and enerav efficiency ratios. The window mount air conditioners shall be of the following sizes, capacities, electrical characteristics and energy efficiency ratios (EERs) as specified in

7、nus 5 percent. Standard RAC-1. Unit desiqn. The air conditioners shall be designed for double hung windows. The design shall allow the chassis to be easily removed for servicing from the inside without breaking the weathertight seal on the mounting cabinet. The maximum dimensions shall be 19 inches
8、high by 26 inches wide. All mounting devices necessary for installation shall be provided. Operation. The air conditioning units shall operate on 60 Hz, single phase current and shall control the exhaust of room air and the admittance of outside air. An adjustable thermostat shall be provided to aut
9、omatically control the temperature from 65 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit (eF), 2 3eF. The circulating fan motor shall have three or more speeds. For electrical safety, the air conditioners shall be in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Inc. Standard No. 484. Acceptable evidence that the air c
10、onditioners conform to UL Standard 484 shall be the UL label or listing mark. Cooling capacity ratings shall be in accordance with the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) Standard RAC-1. Acceptable evidence of meeting these ratings is a listing in the latest edition of the AHAM Direct
11、ory of Certified Room Air Conditioners or an AHAM certification seal displayed on the unit. The annual energy consumption shall be determined in accordance with AHAM Standard No. RAC-1. The manufacturers standard commercial warranty shall apply. UL and AHAM compliance. The issues of UL Standard No.

All c
13、omponents and assemblies shall be free of dirt and other extraneous materials. Burrs, slivers, rough die, tool and grind marks, dents, and cracks shall be unacceptable. Castings, molded parts and stampings, if used, shall be free of sand, fins, pits, blow holes, and sprues. The surfaces of parts to
14、be welded or brazed shall be clean. All scale and flux shall be removed from the finished weld area. The welds shall be smooth. Threaded fasteners shall not be missing, broken, cracked, or stripped. There shall be no defects affecting serviceability, durability, or appearance. REGULATORY REQUIREMENT
15、S Recvcled materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum practical extent. Recycled or reclaimed materials may be used in the construction of the equipment described herein to the maximum extent possible. Recycled and r
16、eclaimed materials shall consist of previously used material which has been reprocessed to become a source of new raw materials. Under no circumstances shall the contractor submit to the Government for acceptance reconditioned or rebuilt components as a part of the equipment described herein. Refriq
17、erant. Any non-ozone depleting refrigerant, except refrigerant blends containing propane, may be used. Ammonia and Class I ozone depleting chemical compounds are not acceptable. HCFC refrigerant, R-22, shall be acceptable for these units. PRESERVATION, PACKAGING, PACKING, LABELING, AND MARKING Prese
18、rvation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
