2、gencies. 1. SCOPE. 1.1. Intended use. The flashlight is intended for use on aircraft emergency life rafts and for other emergency applications to provide a small sturdy beam of light where reliance on conventional battery powered light sources are not desirable. This item is not designed for operati
3、on in explosive or potentionally explosive atmospheres. 2.1. Desim and construction. The flashlight shall consist of a manually operated electrical generator which provides power for a Single Contact (SC) Mini Flanged size B-34 incandescent lamp. The lamp shall be positioned within a parabolic refle
4、ctor so as to produce a narrow beam of light. The lamp and reflector shall be covered by a shatterproof lens. The flashlight body shall fit comfortably in the palm of the hand and complete operation shall be possible using only one hand, leaving the operators other hand free to accomplish other task
5、s. Lamp replacement shall not require the use of any tools. 2.1.1 ODerating force. The force required to operate the generator mechanism shall not exceed 3.6 kilograms at the maximum rated output voltage for the flashlight. 2.1.2. Weight. The weight of the flashlight shall not exceed 370 grams. 2.1.
6、3. Dimensions. The flashlight shall fit into a box (rectangular solid) having dimensions not exceeding 150mm X 60mm X 80mm. 2.1.4. Light beam. The flashlight shall project a concentrated beam of light not less than 120mm nor more than 250mm in diameter when located 1.5m from a screen, the plane of w
7、hich is perpendicular to the optical axis of the flashlight. E i 2.1.5. Light intensity. Light emitted shall be not less than 20 candelas, 2 degrees wide or 40 candelas 1 degree wide, in either of two planes perpendicular to each other and passing through the axis of symmetry of the lamp head. 10、l damage or any loss of function associated with the electrical power generating mechanism. 2.2. lmkmm-g hi . All components and assemblies shall be ee of dirt and other extraneous materials. Buns, slivers, rough die, tool, and grinding marks, dents, and cracks shall be unacceptable. Castings, molde
11、d parts and stampings, shall be free of sand, fins, pits, blow holes, and sprues. The surfaces of parts to be welded or brazed shall be clean. All scale and flux shall be removed from the finished weld area. The welds shall be smooth. Threaded fasteners shall not be missing, broken, cracked, or stri
12、pped of threads. There shall be no defects affecting serviceability, durability, operation or appearance. 3. EEGUL ATORY REOU IREMENTS. 3.1. Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum practical extent. Recy
13、cled or reclaimed materials may be used in the construction of the equipment described herein. Recycled and reclaimed materials shall consist of previously used material which has been reprocessed to become a source of new raw materials. Under no conditions or circumstances shall the contractor subm
14、it to the Government for acceptance reconditioned or rebuilt components as a part of the equipment described herein. 4. OUALITY ASSUR ANCE PROVISIONS, 4.1 Contractor certification. The contractor shall certifi and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteri
15、stics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producer?s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same as the product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. When specific quality assurance provisions are specified
16、for any commercial characteristic the contractor shall maintain records resulting from his inspection(s) conducted in accordance with the specific quality assurance provisions. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be oth
17、erwise provided under the provisions of the contract. The government reserves the right to audit the contractor?s quality assurance records. 4.2. Successful commercial operation. No item of equipment offered under this CID shall be acceptable unless the manufacturer has marketed equipment of the sam
18、e size (similar capacity) and type in a commercial environment for a minimum period of one year. Equipment installed for test purposes in a manufacturer?s plant or test laboratory shall not be considered as complying with this requirement. 4.3. Warranty. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, t
19、he manufacturer?s standard commercial warranty terms shall apply. 5. PACKAGING. 5.1. Preservation. Packaging, Packing. Labeline and Marking. Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling and marking shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order. 5.1.1. Commercial. In the absence of detailed i
20、nstructions in the contract or purchase order, preservation and packing shall be in accordance with ASTM D 395 1, Standard Practice for Commercial Packaging.
