2、SCOPE. This document describes a rugged, lightweight, battery powered light (hereafter referred to as the “light I) suitable for mounting on a fire fighter helmet, a military battle helmet or industrial safety “hard hat”. The light may be used as a helmet light or general work light, 2. SALIENT CHAR
3、ACTERISTICS. 2.1. -trUct im. The light shall be waterproof to a depth of 500 feet, explosion-proof, electrically non-conducting and non-corroding. 5、 by Factory Mutual Research Corp.(FM) to meet safety requirements, and most equipment standards required in confined spaces or hazardous locations; Class 1, Division II, Groups A, B, C, D, j. dielectric rating: the light in the holder attached to a hard hat shall be dielectric tested by an independe
6、nt laboratory following standard industrial practices to withstand a minimum of 25,000 volts, k helmet clip: clips shall be capable of firmly attaching the light to a helmet by screws and shall be available as accessories. The offerorhontractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Recycled and reclaimed
10、materials shall consist of previously used material that has been reprocessed to become a source of new raw materials. Under no circumstances shall the contractor submit reconditioned or rebuilt components for government acceptance; as a part of the equipment described herein. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE 4

The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance p
12、ractices, and is the same as the product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. When specific quality assurance provisions are specified for any commercial characteristic the contractor shall furnish data resulting from inspection(s) conducted in accordance with the specific quality assuran
13、ce provisions. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Pa&gug. Preservation, packing, and palletization shall be as specified in the contract or
14、order. 5.2 Madung. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or purchase order, unit packs, shipping containers and unitized pallet loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. 6. Products manufactured to metric dimensions shall be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard Number 376, and all other r
16、equirements of this Commercial Item Description are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. 2of3 Provided by IHS
