This commercial item description (CID) covers technical grade cupric oxide for use in ordnance applications. Cupric oxide is typically used as a pyrotechnic component in marine location markers. 2. SALIENT
4、 CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 General. Cupric oxide shall be furnished in powdered form. 2.2 Chemical properties. When tested using the methods and procedures described in ASTM D 280 and in the American Chemical Society (ACS) “Reagent Chemicals: Specifications and Procedures“ (ACS 86-20569), the cupric oxide

Manufacturers shall prepare and submit a material safety data sheet (MSDS) in accordance with FED-STD-313 and meeting the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) requirements of 29 CFR 1910.1200. 4. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace.
