SCOPE. This
2、 commercial item description (CID) covers three classes, two types, and 13 grades of rosin. 2. CLASSIFICATION 2.1 Classes. Class A - Gum rosin (obtained fiom oleoresin collected fiom living trees). Class B - Wood rosin (obtained fiom the oleoresin contained in dead wood such as stumps and knots). Cl
3、ass C - Tall oil rosin (obtained fiom tall oil). 2.2 Tyves. Weigh 100 f 1 g of the specimen into a large container and add approximately 1 liter of distilled water. Stir the rosin thoroughly in the
9、 water to separate all particles. Wash the rosin onto a 2.36 mm sieve conforming to ASTM El 1 with a gentle stream of water while gently brushing, with a camels hair brush, any matter retained on the sieve. Weigh approximately 5 g of the specimen into a test tube and stopper lightly. Place the test tube in a water bath at 57 f 1C to the depth of the rosin in the test tub
11、e and let stand for 2 hours. Remove the test tube, wipe off the outside water, and gently tap with a pencil. Turn the contents out onto a sheet of paper or a flat dish. The offerorkonactor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with
14、paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Unless otherwise specified herein, all equipment, material, and articles incorporated in the work covered by this commercial item description are to be new and fabricated using materials produced from recovered materials to the maximum ex
15、tent possible without jeopardizing the intended use. The term “recovered materials” means materials which have been collected or recovered fi-om solid waste and reprocessed to become a source of raw materials, as opposed to virgin raw materials. Unless otherwise specified, none of the above shall be
16、 interpreted to mean that the use of used or rebuilt products are allowed under this commercial item description. 4.2 Material safety data sheet (MSDS). QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Product conformance. The product provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item
18、 description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 Market acceDtabilitv. The item offered must
