2、D) by all Federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This CID covers gasoline-engine-driven, hand-held, heavy-duty, two-man operation, portable type earth auger. The auger is intended to be used in boring holes for installation of fences and utility posts. 2. CLASSIFICATION. This CID refers to only one type of ear
3、th auger. 3. sALm CrnCTERISTICS 3.1 Standard commercial product. The earth auger shall, as a minimum, be in accordance with the requirements of this CID and shall be the manufacturers standard commercial product. Additional or better features which are not specifically prohibited by this CID but whi
4、ch are a part of the mandacturers standard commercial product, shall be included in the loader being furnished. A standard commercial product is a product which has been sold or is being currently offered for sale on the commercial market through advertisements or manufacturers catalogs, or brochure
5、s, and represents the latest production model. 3.2 Performance. 3.2.1 The gasoline engine shall quick start at not more than 4 rope pulls. 7、e 4-cycle, recoil start, with not less than five (5) rated horsepower (3.75) kilowatts, 3.3.2 Boring auger. Each unit shall be fiirnishe with 6-inch (152 mm), 9-inch (229 mm), and 12-inch (305 mm) diameter boring auger. Each auger shall have replaceable cutting blades and fishtail pilot. Each auger
8、size shall be accompanied with two sets of cutting blades and one fishtail pilot as spares. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 4.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encourage to use recovered materiais to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquis
9、ition Regulation (FAR). 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Product conformance. The earth auger shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specification, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same unit offered for sale in the commerc
10、ial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 Market acceptability. The contractor shall furnish the contracting officer, for acceptance, satisfactory evidence of commercial market acceptability for the earth auger. The evidence shall include, but not limite
11、d to, the number of years the same size and model was offered to the commercial market and number of units sold in the past 2 years from the date of the contract or order. 6. PACKAGING. The preservation, packing and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order. 7. NOTES. 7.1 Source of docu
