SCOPE. This commercial item description (CI
2、D) covers one type of dichlorvos (DDVP)insecticide strip for the control of flies, mosquitoes, gnats, and other small flying insects inenclosed spaces, semi-enclosed spaces, garbage cans, and catch basins. Dichlorvos is chemicallyknown as 2,2-dichlorovinyl dimethyl phosphate. The strip is not to be
3、used in hospital or clinicrooms; areas where infants, the ill, or the aged will be present for extended periods of time; orkitchens, restaurants, and places where food is stored, prepared, or served.2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS2.1 Physical characteristics. The dichlorvos strip shall include a holder t
4、hat prevents directhuman contact with the strip. The holder will include a hanging device that allows thedichlorvos strip to be suspended from a convenient location.2.2 Insecticidal effectiveness. The dichlorvos strip shall contain 18.6 to 22.0 percent by weightDDVP and shall provide insecticidal ac
5、tion for a minimum area of 28 cubic meters (1 ,000 cubicfeet) when used as directed on the label. 8、ate how this period of effectiveness was determined.3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS3.1 Registration. The dichlorvos strip shall be registered by Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) in accordance with Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 152.3.2 Material safety data sheet (MSDS). An MSDS shall be
9、prepared and fhrnished inaccordance with Title 29, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1910.1200.3.3 Markin E. ackain, and labeling. Material shall be labeled, packed and marked inaccordance with Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 100 to 185.4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Product conform

The product provided shall meet the salient characteristics of thiscommercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards,and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercialmarket. The Government reserves the right
11、to require proof of such conformance.4.2 Market accet)tabilitv. The item offered must have been sold to the Government orcommercial market.5. PACKAGING.
