SCOPE. This commerci
2、al item description covers hand held, electric powered, conduction soldering devices using on demand current consumption and accessories specified herein. 2. CLASSIFICATION. This commercial item description covers soldering guns of the following type, style, class, and heat level. 2.1 Tm. Type refer
3、s to the type of-the element on the soldering gun. The types of soldering guns are as follows: Type I - Wire tip (transformer) Type II - Solid tip 2.2 Stvle. Style refers to the handle of the soldering gun. The styles of soldering guns are as follows: Style A - Pistol grip handle StyleB - Pencilhand
4、le 2.3 Class. Class refers to the number of switch positions on the soldering gun. Heat levels are as follows: Heat level A - Less than 150 Watts (W) Heat level B - Between 150W and 300W Heat level C - More than 300W 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Design. T
7、he soldering gun shall consist of a self-contained unit with attachments for general purpose soldering as described herein. 3.1.1 Options. When specified (see 7.4), the soldering guns shall include the following options. 3.1.1.2 Illumination. Illuminating soldering guns shall illuminate the tip area
8、. Lamps shall be replaceable without the use of special tools. 3.1.1.3 Battery operation. Battery operated soldering guns shall be rechargeable and include the battery. Recharging equipment shall be included with the soldering gun, and may be an integral part of the soldering gun. 3.1.1.4 Soldering
9、gun kit. Unless otherwise specified (see 7.4), Soldering guns kit shall include a reusable case, and at least three soldering tips. Type I soldering gun tips shall include a general soldering tip, a smoothing tip, and a cutting tip. Type II soldering guns tips shall include a general soldering tip,
10、a pointed or cone tip, and a chisel tip. 3.2 Controls. The soldering gun shall have a momentary switch to control output. All controls shall be located in a position convenient to the operator and in the operators plain view. 3.3 Warm-up time. The warm-up time to reach operating temperature for gene
11、ral purpose soldering from initial power on shall not exceed 15 seconds. 3.4 Power requirements. Unless otherwise specified (see 7.4), the soldering gun power requirements shall be 120 Vac 60 Hz single phase and shall not exceed 3 amps. Power cord shall be either 2-wire polarized or 3-wire grounding
12、 type. 3.5 Soldering tim and elements. All soldering tips and elements shall be replaceable without the use of special tools. Special purpose tips and elements shall be as specified (see 7.4). 3.6 Safetv reauirements. The soldering gun shall meet requirements of, “UL Standard for Safety for Electric

The offerorkontractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accorda
14、nce with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4.2 Environmental Protection. During the manufacture of the soldering guns, materiais hazardous to the ecological systems and as prohibited by the federal, state or local statutes in effect on the date of the contract shall not b
15、e used and shall not be emitted. 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and shall conform to the drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices of producer and also
16、 shall be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 6. PACKAGING.
