SCOPE. This commercial item descrip
2、tion covers the requirements for mountaineering webbing and sewn slings which are generally used to connect rock and ice protection to the climbers rope for safety. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The webbing will be furnished in the following types and sizes: 2.1 Types Type I Sewn Sling Type II Webbing, Textile
3、, 1- inch Type III Sewn Sling, Load Limiting 2.2 Sizing. The webbing Type I will be available in three sizes as described in Table I. Types II and Types III will be available in one size only. 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. The sewn sling shall be as light-weight as possible, while meeting the standard
4、s described in 3.1.1, 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 and the physical characteristics of Table I. The Type I sewn sling shall
7、be constructed of nylon and conform to the dimensions of Table II and the requirements in drawing 3-3-0132. All ends of the sewn sling shall be cut with a hot knife to prevent fraying. The sewn sling design shall provide ease of use with typical combat gloves while meeting the standards in this desc
8、ription. 3.1.2 Type II. The Type II webbing shall be nylon and conform to MIL-W-5625, 1-inch (see 7.3) and the requirements of drawing 3-3-0140. The color shall be a good match to Foliage Green 502/504. 3.1.3 Type III. The Type III sewn sling shall be constructed of nylon and conform to the dimensio
9、ns of Table I and the requirements in drawing 3-3-0130. All ends of the sewn sling shall be cut with a hot knife to prevent fraying. The sewn sling design shall provide ease of use with typical combat gloves. The sewn sling shall be of an energy absorbing design. It shall be designed to begin extend
10、ing after 2 kiloNewtons of force is placed on it. Energy absorption shall be accomplished during the extension of the webbing and tearing of internal stitching not integral to the overall strength of the sewn sling. The sewn sling shall have fixed clip in points at the top and bottom that will fit a
11、ny typical carabiner in accordance with A-A-59836. 3.2 Color (Types I and Types III only). The sewn slings shall provide low contrast with typical use terrain and be a good match to the colors in Table II. TABLE II. 14、) and instruction label (Class 3) or a combination size, identification and instruction label (Class 14) conforming to Type VI of MIL-DTL-32075. The color of the labels shall be white. Size and instruction information details will be in accordance with Union Internationale des Associations dAlpinism
15、e (UIAA) standards 103 and 104. The following identification information shall be included in the printing for the labels for the webbing. 16、 of product established by this document. The occurrence of defects shall not exceed the contractors own quality assurance standards and the quality assurance standards defined in the technical data in the solicitation and/or contract. 3.6 Service life. The webbing and sewn slings shall have no unex
17、pected material or component failures during a continuous one-year cycle. The webbing sewn slings shall have no unexpected material or component failures during periodic use over a five year period. 3.7 Labels/barcoding/instruction slip. If applicable, all labeling, barcoding and instruction slip re
18、quirements shall be as specified in the solicitation or contract (see 7.2). 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4.1 Recycled, re
19、covered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible, provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements and promotes economically advantageous life cycle cos
20、ts. 5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Product conformance. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 Visual examination. Each webbing shall be examined for the following defects as l
