18、interpreted in accordance with MIL-STD-31000. 3.2 Interface and physical dimensions. Interface and physical dimensions shall be as specified on figure 1. 3.3 Materials. Three elastomer types (see 3.3.1) and four wire types are available (see 3.3.2) are available in the combinations shown in table I.
19、 Any elastomer/wire combination may be ordered using the PIN format specified in 1.2. Design criteria such as EMI requirements, maximum closure force, and environmental considerations determine the appropriate combination of elastomer material and wire type to be used. 3.3.1 Elastomer types. Type A:
20、 Solid silicone rubber in accordance with A-A-59588, class 3, grade 30, (30 +5, -10 shore A durometer). Used in medium to high closure force applications (50 psi to 250 psi). Type B: Solid fluorosilicone rubber in accordance with MIL-DTL-25988, class 1, grade 40, type II. Used in medium to high clos
21、ure force applications (50 psi to 250 psi) where resistance to hydrocarbons is necessary. Type C: Closed cell silicone sponge rubber in accordance with SAE-AMS-3195, except density is.78 g/cm2maximum. 24、lastomer only. 3.3.3 Adhesive. A pressure - sensitive adhesive (PSA) is available on one side of gaskets having a minimum width of .250 inch and a minimum thickness of .062 inch. Include an “L“ in the PIN (see 1.2) for silicone PSA; an “A“ for acrylic PSA; or an “N“ for no PSA. 3.4 Characteristics.
25、3.4.1 Construction. The gaskets shall consist of the specified wire type embedded in the specified elastomer type (see 3.3.1, 3.3.2, and table I). Wires shall be oriented parallel to each other and perpendicular to the material mounting faces. The construction method used shall prevent the wicking o
26、r transmission of moisture or other liquids through or into the gasket. 3.4.2 Wire population. The wire population for each gasket shall be in accordance with table I. A minimum of four wires across the width (W) of the gasket are required for effective shielding. 3.4.3 Wire retention. Wires shall b
27、e convoluted and bonded to the elastomer to resist dislodgment. 3.4.4 Operating temperature range. The operating temperature for each elastomer material type shall be in accordance with table I. 3.4.5 Compression set. The maximum allowable compression set shall be in accordance with table I. 3.4.6 C

Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible, provided that the material meets or exceeds the operation
42、al and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.7 Certificate of compliance. A certificate of compliance shall be required from manufacturers requesting to be an approved source of supply. 3.8 Pure tin. The use of pure tin, as an underplate or final finish
43、 is prohibited both internally and externally. Tin content of resistor components and solder shall not exceed 97 percent, by mass. Tin shall be alloyed with a minimum of 3 percent lead, by mass (see 6.3). 3.9 Marking. Gaskets need not be marked. Unit packs shall be marked in accordance with 5.1. 3.1
44、0 Workmanship. Gaskets shall be representative of controlled industrial techniques. Surfaces shall be free of dirt, kinks, scale, lumps, corrosion, or other defects which could affect the life, serviceability, or performance of the gaskets. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Sampling and inspection. Unless otherwi
45、se specified, sampling and inspection procedures shall be performed in accordance with table IV. 4.2 Conformance inspection. 4.2.1 Inspection of product for delivery. 47、2 4.2.3 0 4.2.2 Inspection lot. An inspection lot shall consist of all gaskets and test specimens of the same material type made from one batch. 4.2.3 Sampling inspection for dimensions. A dimension measurement shall be made for each roll or spool at a point 3 feet from its end, provided the roll or
48、 spool does not contain more than 5,000 feet. Rolls or spools containing more than 5,000 feet shall be measured for dimensions once per each 5,000 feet or portion thereof. 4.3 Rejected lots. If an inspection lot is rejected, the contractor may rework it to correct the defects, or screen out the defective units and resubmit for inspection. Resubmitted lots shall be inspected using tightened inspection techniques. Such lots shall be separate from new lots, and shall be clearly identified as
