Contact material shall be silver, 85 percent minimum and 90 percent maximum by weight. Balance is cadmium oxide, contact quality, commercial grade. Silver-cadmium oxide, manufact
15、ured by powdered metal method (press, sinter, work). 3.1.2 Body. Body material shall be copper plate, UNS number C11000, temper H04 (hard), in accordance with ASTM B152/B152M. 3.1.3 Plating. One side of the contact shall be faced or plated with 99.9 percent fine silver in accordance with ASTM B742 o
16、r with 99.9 percent refined silver (ASTM B413) to a thickness of .010 inch (0.25 mm) minimum to .015 (0.38 mm) maximum. The remainder of the contact and the body shall be silver plated in accordance with ASTM B700. Identify side of contact with the silver backing to ensure proper assembly. 3.1.4 Bra
17、zing. Brazing material shall be silver brazing alloy, minimum 50 percent silver content in accordance with QQ-B-654. The side of the contact with 99.9 percent silver face (see 3.1.3) shall be brazed to the body with not less than 90 percent bond to body in accordance with best manufacturing practice
18、s. 3.2 Interface and physical dimensions. See figure 1. 3.3 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible, provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and mainte
19、nance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.4 Manufacturer eligibility. To be eligible for listing as a suggested source of supply, a manufacturer perform the Group A inspection specified herein on a sample of parts agreed upon by the manufacturer and DLA Land and
20、Maritime-VA. 3.5 Certificate of compliance. A certificate of compliance shall be required from manufacturers requesting to be a suggested source of supply. 3.6 Pure tin. The use of pure tin, as an underplate or final finish is prohibited both internally and externally. Tin content of contact assembl
21、y components and solder shall not exceed 97 percent, by mass. Tin shall be alloyed with a minimum of 3 percent lead, by mass (see 6.3). 3.7 Marking. Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1285, except the contact assembly shall be marked with the PIN as specified herein (see 1.2), the manufactu
22、rers name or Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code, and date lot code. 3.8 Workmanship. Parts shall be free of flash pits, voids, burrs, and excessive weld material, visible parting line is acceptable. Round all corners. Unless otherwise specified, inspection procedures shall be performed in accordance with Table I. The sampling plan shall be as specified in
27、 Table II. 4.2 Conformance inspection. 4.2.1 Inspection of product for delivery. Inspection of product for delivery shall consist of group A inspection. 4.2.1.1 Group A inspection. Group A inspection shall consist of the inspections specified in table I in the order shown. Rejected lots shall not be
28、 shipped. 4.2.2 Criteria for defects. All dimensional characteristics are considered defective when out of tolerance. All physical and functional properties are considered defective when outside the specified minimum or maximum range as applicable. The specified sampling plan for each category is ap

30、units 192 units 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When packaging of materiel is to be performed by DoD or in-house contractor personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging
31、activity to ascertain packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Points packaging activities within the Military Service or Defense Agency, or within the military services system commands. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Military De
32、partments or Defense Agencys automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity. 6. Requirements for delivery of one copy of the conformance inspection data or the certificate of compliance that parts have passed conformance inspection with each shipment of parts by the manufacturer. c. Whether the manufacturer performs the group A inspection test
36、s or provides certificate of compliance with group A requirements. d. Requirement for notification of change of product to the acquiring activity, if applicable. e. Requirements for packaging and packing. 6.4 Tin whisker growth. The use of alloys with tin content greater than 97 percent, by mass, ma
37、y exhibit tin whisker growth problems after manufacture. Tin whiskers may occur anytime from a day to years after manufacture and can develop under typical operating conditions, on products that use such materials. Conformal coatings applied over top of a whisker-prone surface will not prevent the f
38、ormation of tin whiskers. Alloys of 3 percent lead, by mass, have shown to inhibit the growth of tin whiskers. For additional information on this matter, refer to ASTM-B545 (Standard Specification for Electrodeposited Coatings of Tin). 6.5 Users of record. Coordination of this document for future re
