This drawing outlines the general requirements for families of high density/high performance two piece electrical connectors, intended for printed circuit board attachment and connection, utilizin

6、g through hole (solder and compliant pin), surface mount, or wire harness termination techniques. The connectors may include low-level signal logic type contacts, power contacts, shielded contacts and optical termini. These connectors may also offer severe operating environment performance capabilit

7、y, such as protective hoods, contact sealing, interfacial seals, electrostatic shielding or other advanced capabilities. 1.1.1 Operating environment. Connectors conforming to this general requirements drawing shall be capable of operating in the following environments: a. Temperature from -65C to +1

8、25C with temperature cycling. b. Altitudes from sea level to 70,000 ft. (21.3 km). c. Moisture conditions up to 100% relative humidity. d. Dust and fine sand atmosphere. e. Salt laden atmosphere. f. Vibration conditions to 20 gs. g. Shock conditions up to (100) gs. 1.2 Part or Identifying Number (PI

Thermoplastic, type GST-40F in accordance with MIL-M-24519. b. Thermosetting Plastic, type GDI-30F in accordance with ASTM D5948. c. Thermoplastic, typ

11、e GLCP-30F in accordance with MIL-M-24519. 1.2.2 Termination style. Connectors shall be terminated using the following termination techniques: a. Thru hole solder termination. b. Compliant pin termination. c. Surface mount solder termination. d. Solder cup/eyelet termination. e. Attached wire harnes

12、s termination. f. Wire wrap termination. 1.2.3 Contact number. The PIN shall include 5 digits to identify the total number of contacts. The first three digits will identify the number of signal contacts, and the following two digits identifying the number of special contacts (shielded, fiber optic,

Each individual requirements drawing will provide a chart, which will identify available termination types and an associated code letter to in

15、clude in the PIN. 1.2.5 Keying pin. The PIN will utilize a single character to identify the shape of the keying pin. Each individual requirements drawing will provide a chart, which will identify available keying types and an associated code letter to include in the PIN. 1.2.6 Sealing. Contact seali

16、ng will be identified in the last character position of the PIN as follows: S - Connectors are sealed to prevent entry of cleaning fluids, or conformal coatings into the contact area from termination side of the connector. N - No sealing is provided. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. The document

34、REV B PAGE 5 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 DSCC requirements drawing. The individual item requirements shall be in accordance with this drawing and the applicable item requirements drawing. In the case of conflict between this drawing and the individual requirements drawing, the latter shall govern. 3.1.1 Qua

35、lity assurance requirements. Connectors furnished in the individual requirements drawings shall have been submitted to and passed all the requirements, tests, and inspections detailed herein including quality conformance requirements. Testing by similarity is acceptable, but does not exclude the man

36、ufacturer from the tests and inspections specified herein on assembly items that no test data exists. 3.1.2 Qualification. Qualification inspection for connectors specified herein shall not be required 3.1.3 Certificate of compliance. A certificate of compliance shall be required from a manufacturer

37、 in order to be listed as an approved source in the individual requirements drawings (see 4.5.3 and 6.6). 3.2 Design and construction General. The specified connectors shall be multi row two piece assemblies, housing receptacle and pin contacts in mating assemblies with termination types which will

38、enable printed circuit card, backplane or chassis mounting. Contacts shall be pin, blade, socket, tuning fork, or other types as detailed in the specific requirements drawing. Housing configurations, keying means and mounting hardware shall as described in the specific requirements drawing as approp

39、riate. Connectors shall be designed and fabricated to withstand normal handling incident to installation and maintenance in service. 3.3 Materials and finishes. Materials and finishes for each connector or subassembly shall be as specified herein or in the specific requirements drawing. 3.3.1 Contac

40、t material and finish. 3.3.1.1 Tuning fork contact material. Tuning fork contacts shall be beryllium copper as specified in ASTM B194, MIL-C-81021 (UNS-C-17500) or ASTM B768 (UNS-C-17410), heat treated to to hard) hard condition. 3.3.1.2 Tuning fork contact finish. Tuning fork contacts shall be plat

41、ed with gold in accordance with ASTM B488 type II, code C, class 1.27 (50 microinches) min over 50 to 100 microinches of low stress nickel in the area of the female tuning fork where it engages with the male blade. The remaining area of the tuning fork shall be gold plated in accordance with ASTM B4

42、88 type II, code C, class 0.76 (30 microinches) min of gold over 50 to 100 microinches of low stress nickel in accordance with AMS-QQ-N-290, class I, see figure 1. Selectively plated contacts shall have a transition area between the AU and SN-Pb of nickel to avoid overlap and resultant embrittlement

Insulators shall be molded from high strength, high heat deflection temperature materials capable of withstanding high temperature solde
