Fork design: Copper alloy in accordance with ASTM B122. Spring contact design: The body shal
22、l be one-half hard brass alloy UNS C26000 in accordance with ASTM B36 or quarter hard (H01 Temper). 3.3.2 Contact spring. Spring design: The spring shall be (TH02 Temper) half-hard heat-treated beryllium copper UNSC17200 in accordance with ASTM B194. 3.3.3 Insulator housing. The insulator shall be g
23、lass-mineral-filled nylon in accordance with ASTM D4066 or glass filled thermoplastic in accordance with MIL-M-24519. All plastic shall be rated V-0 in accordance with UL-94. 3.3.4 Polarizing plug. The plug shall be unfilled nylon in accordance with ASTM-D4066 or glass filled thermoplastic in accord
24、ance with MIL-M-24519 and shall be molded from a resin having a flame retardant rating of V-2 or better, in accordance with UL-94. 3.4 Finish. 3.4.1 Contact body (tuning fork or two piece). The contact body shall be gold plated in accordance with ASTM B488 class code C, type 3, class 0.75 or 1.27 (3
25、0 or 50 microinches) minimum (see individual requirement drawing) (preplating is acceptable) or tin/lead in accordance with AMS-P-81728; 50 to 97 percent tin, over 50 microinches (1.27 m) minimum nickel in accordance with AMS-QQ-N-290, class 2. The soldertail shall be plate with 100 microinches (2.5
26、4 m) tin-lead in accordance with AMS-P-81728, 50 to 97 percent tin, over 50 microinches (1.27 m) minimum nickel in accordance with AMS-QQ-N-290, class 2. NOTE: When contacts have been provided in strip form, the absence of plating in the area where the contact was removed from the strip is acceptabl
27、e provided it is in a nonfunctional area and any corrosion formed is in a non functional area. 3.4.2 Contact spring. If applicable, for spring contact designs, the spring shall be plated with gold flash in accordance with ASTM B488, code C, type 3, class (as specified in the individual requirement d
28、rawing). 3.5 Design and construction. The receptacle shall be a multi-piece assembly having one or two rows of contacts with solder tail terminations for installation in .035 inch (0.88 mm) diameter holes in a printed wiring board thickness in accordance with individual item requirements. The connec
29、tor shall be capable of mating and unmating by hand without the use of special tools. 3.5.1 Interface. The female end of the contact shall interface with .025 inch (0.64 mm) square pins on .100 inch (2.54 mm) centers, without the use of special tools. 3.5.2 Interchangeability. The connector shall be
30、 capable of mating with an appropriately constituted male connector with the same population without degradation in performance. 3.5.3 Workmanship. Connectors shall be uniform in quality and shall be free from burrs, scratches, cracks, voids, chips, holes, sharp edges, or other defects that will adv
31、ersely affect life or serviceability. 3.5.4 Polariziation/keying. Polarization/keying of the connector shall be available through the use of individual polarizing plugs inserted into selected contact positions. Positions used to accomplish polarization/keying shall not be functional. 3.6 Electrical
32、characteristics. 3.6.1 Current rating. The maximum current rating of the connector shall be 3.0 amperes dc for individual terminals, and 2.0 amperes dc for the total connector. The contact resistance when measured in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 307, shall not exceed 10 milliohms, before humidity test (see 3.8.1) and 15 milliohms, after humidity test; the following
34、details shall apply. a. Method of connection: Attach current and voltage leads as shown on figure 1 (see note). b. Test current: 1.0 amperes dc. c. Sample size: 20 percent of connector population. NOTE: Differences in contact resistance between various terminal configurations represent changes in th
35、e bulk resistance due to longer lengths of current paths; correction for these differences in bulk resistance will permit comparison of results for different configurations of terminal. The low level circuit resistance shall not exceed the value specified
37、 in 3.6.2, when measured in accordance with MIL-STD-1344, method 3002, the following details shall apply: a. Method of connection: Attach current and voltage leads as shown on figure 1 (see note 3.6.2). b. Test current: 1.0 milliampere dc. c. Minimum open circuit voltage: 20 millivolts dc. d. Sample
38、 size 20 percent of connector population. 3.6.4 Insulation resistance. Unless otherwise specified the insulation resistance of unmated connectors shall not be less than 10,000 megohms initial (5,000 megohms after exposure to the humidity, see 3.8.1) when measured in accordance with MIL-STD-202, meth
39、od 302; the following details shall apply: a. Test conditions: B (500 volts dc). b. Special preparation: The connector shall not be terminated (see note). c. Points of measurement: Between adjacent and opposing contact positions for 20 percent of connector population. NOTE: Termination, the type of
40、printed wiring board and the geometry of its land areas will affect this parameter; for this reason, this sample has not been terminated. 3.6.5 Dielectric withstanding voltage. There shall be no evidence of arc-over, insulation breakdown or excessive leakage current (1 milliampere) when the unmated
41、connectors are tested in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 301, the following details shall apply: a. Test potential: 1,250 volts rms at 60 Hz. b. Test duration: 60 seconds. c. Special preparation: The connector shall not be terminated (see note 3.6.4). d. Points of measurement: Between adjacent a
42、nd opposing contact position for 20 percent of connector population. 3.6.6 Capacitance. The capacitance between pairs of adjacent or opposing contacts in an unmated connector shall not exceed 2.0 picofarads, when measured in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 305 the following details shall apply:
43、a. Test frequency: 100 kilohertz. b. Special preparation: The connector shall not be terminated (see note 3.6.4). c. Sample size: 20 percent of connector population. 3.7 Mechanical characteristics. 3.7.1 Contact retention. Individual contacts in the unterminated receptacle connector shall withstand
44、a minimal axial load of 1.5 pounds (0.68 kg), 1 pound (0.45 kg) for 2 a position receptacle connector, in the direction of normal pin insertion without dislodgement. 3.7.2 Terminal strength. Individual contact tails in the unterminated connector shall withstand without fracture a bend of 45 when tes
45、ted in accordance with MIL-STD-202, method 211; the following details shall apply: a. Direction of the bend: Normal to the width of the tail. b. Number of cycles: 2. c. Sample size: 10 percent of connector population. 3.7.3 Total mating force. The total force to mate the terminated connector with an
