This specification covers a nylon cloth case consisting of two parts hinged together and fitted with a slide fastener and a carrying

Mildew resistance shall be obtained by using copper-8-quin01 inolate only. * 3.2.5.1.1 Water repellence. The finished tape shall pass the water repellence test when tested as specified (see 4.5.2).
17、 * 3.2.5.2 Salt spray resistance. The slide fasteners shall pass the salt spray resistance test requirements as specified (see 4.5.3). 3.2.5.1 Tape. 18、2.6 Stitching seal ing. In accordance with the manufacturers di- rections, exterior stitching shall be sealed by the application of one of the two sealants listed in 6.5 or equal. 3.3 Construction. Design, construction and assembly of the cases, including carrying strap, shall be as specified herein
19、 and as shown on Defense Personnel Support Center Draw4 ng 2032. as follows: 3.3.1 Stitching, machine. All stitching shall conform to FED-STD-751 For all stitching except overedge stitching: type 301, 8 to For overedge stitching (single operation optional ): type 503 or 504, 8 to 10 stitches per inc
20、h. For closing seams and overedge stitching (simul taneous oper- ation optional): type 301 in combination with 503, 504 or 502, 8 to 10 stitches per inch. . 10 stitches per inch. All edges of closing seams shall be overstitched. There shall be no lubrication of the thread, by any means,either prior
21、to, or during sewing. Any of the operations requiring box, box with cross stitch, W stitching, .straight line tacking, or any other design of stitching cited in this specification, may be performed with an automatic stitch- ing machine provided that the requirements for stitch pattern, stitches per
22、inch, size, and types of thread are met; and that a.t least three or more tying, overlapping, or back stitches are used to secure the ends of .stitching. Bartacks shall be at least 3/4 inch long with 46 to 52 stitches per inch. The width of zipper stitching shall be 3/16 inch. 3.3.1.1 Type 301 stitc
23、hing. Thread breaks. in stitching shall be over- stitched no less than 1 inch at each break. Stitching shall be back- stitched no less than 1 inch at the ends, except where ends are turned under in a hem or are held down by other stitching. Thread tension shall be maintained so that there will be no
24、 loose stitching, and the lock will be imbedded in the sewn materials. 3.3.1.2 Overedge stitching. Thread breaks in overedge stitching shall be overstitched no less than 3/4 inch at each break. Thread tension shall be maintained so that there will be no loose stitching. 3.3.2 Placement of snap faste
25、ners. The four snap (curtain) fasteners shall be positioned as shown on the drawing and so arranged that all four shall be detachable from above downward. The finished cases shall fit on the test panel without distortion when tested as specified (see 4.5.4). 4 Licensed by Information Handling Servic
26、esMIL-C-303C 65 7977706 0258680 5 MIL-C-303C 3.3.3 Attachment of curtain fasteners. Holes shall be made in the webbing before insertion of the prongs of the female element. Holes shall be small enough to require prongs to be forced through them. Fastener elements shall be tightly clinched so as not
27、to become de- tached from the webbing in normal use. Holes in webbing as centers of fasteners shall be large enough so as not to impede insertion of studs into sockets. 3.3.4 Attachment of slide fasteners. Slide fasteners shall be attached as shown on the drawing. Top and bottom stops shall be in pr
28、oximity with the cross-stitching in order to insure complete closure and to eliminate openings in the tape extension. The cloth body of the case shall be stitched to the fastener tape at a sufficient dis- tance from scoops to permit free movement of slider and pull, * 3.4 Marking for identification.
29、 The case shall be permanently and legibly marked with black waterproof ink or paint in accordance with the drawing, except for the red cross. A Geneva Red Cross on a white background shall be applied to the case as shown on the drawing. Color of the cross shall be Color 11105 (gloss red) as shown i
30、n FED-STD-595, and the white background shall be Color 17886 (gloss white) of the same speci f icati on. 4 3.5 Norkmanshi Workmanship shall be first class throughout. Com- plete cases -7-e including carrying straps) shall be well made and free from defects which detract from their appearance or impa
31、ir their serviceability. * 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS * 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all in- spection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise speci- fied in the contract, the con
32、tractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspecti-on requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification to assure supplies and services conf
33、orm to prescribed requi rernents. 4.1.1 Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made avail- able to the Government, upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract

Sufficient samples of the component materials shall be selected from each lot of material used in the manufacture of the case, to perform tests as required by the applicable referenc
37、e specifications, or by tests specified herein. When sample size is not specified, it shall be as indicated for Inspection Level S-1 of MIL-STD-105, except that the acceptance number shall be zero for all sample sizes, and a minimum of three samples shall be taken regardless of lot size. The unit of

Any dimension not within the tolerances specified herein 4.4 Packaging inspection. The inspection of the unit package, inter- mediate
48、package, packing and marking for shipment and storage shall be in accordance with the quality assurance provisions of the applicable container specification and the marking requirements of MIL-STD-129. 4.5 Tests. Test shall be conducted to determine compliance with specifi- cation requirements. 4.5.
49、1 Chemical analysis requirements. Metal samples shall be analyzed in conformance with Method 111 or 112 of Federal Test Method Standard No. 151. In case of dispute, Method 111 shall be used for referee analysis. 4.5.2 Water repellence test. The finished tape shall be tested for water repel lenck as specified in V-F-106. 4.5.3 Salt spray resistance. The slide fasteners shall be tested for salt spray resistance as specified in V-F-106. 4.5.4 Test for placement of snap fasteners. A metal panel shall be made as shown on d
