This specification covers one type and size of parachute removable connector link separator. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. The documents listed

In the event of a conflict between the text of this sp
12、ecification and the references cited herein, the text of this specification takes precedence. Nothing in this specification, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), the supplier sh
13、all furnish a sample of the separator to be procured under this specification for first article inspection and approval (see 4.2). 3.2 Materials and construction. The materials, construction, and supplementary processes involved in the fabrication of the separator assembly shall conform to the requi

The parachute removable connector link separator, including all components and assemblies, shall be fabric
15、ated and finished in a thoroughly workman-like manner. Particular attention shall be given to the following: a. All areas shall be free of rust or corrosion, dirt, oil, grease or other foreign matter and tool marks or breaks through plating to metal. b. Free from metal slivers. c. All welding, silve
16、r soldering, and brazing shall be smooth, clean, free of flux, pits, slag, spatter, or porosity, and shall be continuous, adherent, and not burnt through. The joints shall be thoroughly fused. d. Rivets shall be fully peened with heads in full contact with riveted members. The rivets shall be firmly
17、 set and completely fill the hole. Rivet heads shall be full, neatly made, and concentric with rivet holes. Holes for rivets shall be accurately punched or drilled and free of any obstruction. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Classification of inspection. The inspection requirements specified herein are classifi
18、ed as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.2). b. Conformance inspection (see 4.3). 4.2 First article inspection. When a first article inspection is required (see 6.2), the number of units to be provided for inspection shall be specified (see 6.2). Units provided for first article inspection
19、shall be examined for the defects in table I as well as the examinations of paragraph 4.3.1, 4.3.2, and 4.3.3. The presence of any major defect or two or more minor defects listed in table I or any dimension not within specified requirements shall be cause for rejection of the first article. TABLE I

24、s specified 209 4.3 Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection shall consist of the visual examination for defects listed in table I as well as the examinations of paragraphs 4.3.1 and 4.3.3. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), the manufacturer, in accordance with MIL-STD-1916, shall select th
25、e type of sampling plan (attribute, variable, or continuous). The sample size shall be selected in accordance with verification level II of MIL-STD-1916. 4.3.1 Component and material inspection. Components and materials shall be inspected in accordance with all of the requirements of referenced spec
26、ifications, drawings, and standards unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified, or qualified in this specification or applicable purchase document. 4.3.2 Process examination. Examination shall be made of the following fabrication processes to establish conformance with specified requirements. When
27、ever nonconformance is noted, correction shall be made to the process and all items processed. a. Heat treatment of spring (see drawing 11-1-240). b. Cementing of felt pad (see drawing 11-1-176). 4.3.3 Dimensional examination. Inspection shall be made of the separators to determine compliance with d
28、imensions on drawings specified in 3.2. Any dimension not within specified tolerances shall be classified a defect. 4.4 Rejection and retest. Any separator failing to meet first article or conformance inspection requirements shall be cause for rejection of the lot. Separators that have been rejected
29、 may be replaced or repaired and the lot retested using a tightened sample size in accordance with verification level III of MIL-STD 1916. Prior to retesting, the manufacturer shall provide all corrective actions taken to correct the defect(s) in writing to the procuring activity. Units rejected aft
30、er retest shall not be resubmitted and the lot shall be rejected unless specific approval is authorized by the procuring activity granting additional corrective actions and testing. 31、PACKAGING 5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of materiel is to be performed by DoD personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain requisite pac
32、kaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the inventory control points packaging activity within the military department or defense agency, or within the military departments system command. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing military departments or defense a
33、gencys automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity. 6. NOTES (This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that may be helpful, but is not mandatory.) 6.1 Intended use. The separator assembly covered by this specification is
34、 used to disengage the leg members of mating parachute removable connector links to facilitate the assembly or disassembly of the applicable parachute components used with the connector links. 6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents must specify the following: a. Title, number, and date
35、of the specification. b. Issue of DoDISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if required, the specific issue of individual documents referenced (see 2.2.1 and 2.2.2). c.
