SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This document cover

2、s canvas cutlery rolls. 1.2 Classification. Cutlery rolls shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.2) : Type I - Component of Cooking Outfit, Field, Small Detachment Type II - Component of Accessory Outfit, Field Range, Gasoline 2. In the event of conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, (except for associated detail specifications, specification sheets or MS standards), the text of this document shall take precedence. Nothing in this document, however, shall

14、 supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and 6.3). 3.2 Materials and components. The materials

15、specified shall conform to applicable documents and requirements specified herein. 3.2.1 Cloth, duck, cotton. Cloth, before finishing, shall conform to type I, No. 6 hard texture and No. 10 hard texture of CCC-C-419. 3.2.1.1 Color and treatment. Cloth shall be dyed Olive Drab 7 and shall conform to

16、type I, class B of CCC-D-950. 3.2.2 Tape, textile, cotton. Tape shall be 3/4- and 1-inch widths, Olive Drab 7 and shall conform to type I, class 4 of MIL-T-43566. 3.2.3 Webbing, textile, cotton. Webbing shall be 2-inch width, Olive Drab 7 and shall conform to type IIb, class 4 of MIL-W-530. 3.2.4 Th

17、read, polyester. Thread for all stitching shall conform to type I, class 1, size FF of V-T-285. The thread shall be dyed shade S-1 (CA 66022). 3.2.5 Leather, cattlehide. Leather for the scabbards, in the thicknesses specified on Drawings 5-7-45, 5-7-102, and 5-7-103, shall conform to type I, II, III

The color of the leather shall be natural as produced

19、by the tanning agents. to the leather. A top finish need not be applied 3.3 Construction. Construction of the cutlery rolls shall conform to the drawings listed in section 2 and shall be as specified herein. 3.3.1 Stitching, machine. c 3.3.1.1 Stitch type. All stitching shall conform to type 301, 6

20、to 8 stitches per inch, of FED-STD-751 . 3.3.1.2 Thread breaks. Thread breaks in stitching shall be overstitched not less than 1 inch at each break. 3.3.1.3 Stitching ends. Stitching at the ends shall be overstitched not less than 1 inch, except where ends are turned under in a hem or held down by o

21、ther stitching. Where stitching is performed automatically on stitch patterns such as box, box with cross-stitch, “W“ stitching, or straight line tacking, at least three or more tying, overlapping, or backstitches shall be used to secure the ends. 3.3.1.4 Skipped stitches. Two or more skipped stitch

22、es occurring consecutively in type 301 stitching shall be overstitched not less than 1 inch. 3.4 Marking. All marking and labels shall conform to DDD-L-20. 3.4.1 Identification marking. Identification marking shall be in the location shown on Drawing 5-7-44 or 5-7-102, as applicable, and shall confo

23、rm to type IV, class 5. 3.4.2 Special marking. The item nomenclature, the letters “US“, the pocket numbers, and marking on the contents labels, in the location shown on Drawings 5-7-44 for type I or 5-7-102 for type II, shall conform to type IV, class 9, except that fastness shall be as specified fo

24、r class 5 labels. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase o

30、rder, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified he

31、rein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the document where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. * 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items m

32、ust meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirement in the document shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government

Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is respons

When a first article is required (see 3.1), it shall be examined for the defects specified in table III and the spe

Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4.1 Component and material inspection. In accordance with 4.1,

38、 components and materials shall be inspected in accordance with all the requirements of referenced documents unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified, or qualified in this document or applicable purchase document. 4.4.1.1 Component dimensional examination. Examination shall be hade of the cut di

39、mensions of pocket pieces as shown on Drawings 5-7-45 and 5-7-103 for types I and II, as applicable. The lot shall be all pieces of the same letter designation offered for inspection at one time. The sample unit shall be one pocket piece. The inspection level shall be S-2, and the acceptable quality

40、 level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 4.0. n 4.4.2 End item visual examination. The end item shall be examined for the defects listed in table III. The lot size shall be expressed in units of rolls. and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defec

41、ts per hundred units, shall be 2.5 for major defects and 6.5 for total (major and minor combined) defects. The sample unit shall be one roll.
