The design yield point shall be the actual yiel9 point or 50,000 psi, whichever is less. beam connection shall be designed for support of a load equal to the safe load required for the entire shelf of which the beam forms a part. 11、 of beams to upright frames shall be by a simple interlocking method without use of screws, bolts or other devic.es requiring tools for assembly and disassembly. 12、turai conforming with 3.3 Construction. The members shall be constructed for easy assembly into completed storage racks without use of tools of any kind. Interlocking joints shall provide rigid connections between vertical and horizontal mem- bers. Safety locks, either separate or integral with each
13、 beam, shall be provided to positively prevent -accidental disconnection of members ; no tools shall be required for installation or removal. The assembled rack shall have no projections front or back which could be hazardous. 3.3.1 Surfaces. All surfaces of ail components and accessories shall be c
14、leaned and free of dirt, oil, grease, scale, flash, flux, and other hamful or extraneous material. Surfaces shall be smooth, and all exposed edges shall be deburred, rounded or beveled. Except as otherwise specified here- fn, the condition and finish of all surfaces shall be in accordance with the m
15、anufacturers standard commercial practice. 3.3.2 Painting. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2), all surfaces of ali members, except those which are plated to prevent corrosion, shall be painted in accordance with the manufacturers standard commercial practice, without holidays. 3.4 Components. 3.4.
16、1 Upright frames. Each upright frame shall be rated in accordance with 3.2 to support a total load of not less than its required safe load rating. In addition, the front post shall be similarly rated to support not less than 75% of the total safe load rating of the upright frame, while the rear post
17、 shall be rated to support not less than 50% of the total safe load rating of the upright frame. These ratings shall be with the lowest shelf not less than 60 inches above the floor. Each upright frame shall comprise two posts which are identical except they may be opposite hand, and except the iron

31、l wires of the mesh shall be under the transverse wires ex- cept for the final longitudinal wire on front and back edges which shall be on top. Tine transverse wires shall be flush with the final longitudinal wire, or undercut, to produce a snag-free edge when mounted on the beams. The longitudinal
32、wires shall similarly be flush with the end traverse wires, or undercut. The wire mesh decking for a pair of beams may be in one or two pieces. If in one piece, the length shall be at least the required horizon- tal clearance less two inches; if in two pieces, the length of each piece shall be at le
33、ast half the required horizontal clearance less two inches. The overall length of each orie-piece, or the overall length of two two-piece as installed on the beams, shall not exceed the required horizontal clear- ance less 1/2 inch. Necessary front-to-back members shall be furnished to provide load

44、ty at least equal to that of the manufacturers commercial products of the type specified herein. 4. QUALITY ASSURAh7CE PROVISIOP?S 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requ
45、irements as specified herein. Except as otherwise speci- fied in the contract or order, the supplier may utilize his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements speci- fied herein, unless disapproved by the government. The government reserves the right to
46、perfom any of the inspections set forth in the specification when such action is deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 First Article inspection. When First Article approval is required under 3.1, First Article inspection shall be performed. Unless o
47、therwise specified (see .2), First Article inspection shall comprise the examination in 4.4 and the testsin 4.5. 49、ailure of the item to pass the examination or the inspection shall be cause for rejection. 4.4 Examination. Each component shall be examined to determine compliance with the requirements in 3.2 through 3.9. 4.5 Tests. For each class of rack required to be supplied under the con- tract, three upright frames and six shelves shall be assembled in accbrdance with the instructions to be furnished under the contract, to form a rack two
