REQUIREMENTS The design, construction, and physical dimensions shall be as specified on figure 1. The maximum restriction when installed on an applicable air cleaner is 1.5 inches (38.1m
6、m) of water. The screen slot size shall be a maximum of 0.0275 square inches. (.6985 square mm) A tapered or clamp type center tube shall be used. Raincaps shall withstand the vibration test, specified herein, without damage that would decrease efficiency of operation. The rain cap shall be mounted
7、as intended in operation and subjected to method 201A vibration test of MIL-STD-202, except that the frequency shall be varied between 10 and 40 cycles per second. Vibration shall be applied horizontally in the direction of the longitudinal centerline of the air outlet. The rain cap shall be vibrate
8、d for 24 hours and any structural damage, permanent deformation or assembly breakdown during this time interval shall be cause for rejection. Raincaps shall withstand a vacuum of 10 inches (254mm) of Hg without collapsing or other damage that would adversely affect operation. This part is for use wi
9、th air cleaners. Referenced documents shall be of the issue in effect on the date of the invitation for bid.
