This commercial item des
2、cription covers two types of laboratory microscope eyepiece micrometer disks suitable for purposes of microscopical measurements or counts. Salient Characteristics. Micrometer disks shall be of the following types: Type I - Straight scale Type II - Whipple Micrometer disks shall be manufactured of h
3、igh quality optical glass having a refractive index of 1.5725 5 0.0030, and shall be free of bubbles, striations, scratches and digs. Disks shall have an overall diameter of 21.08 5 0.12 millimeters (mm) and an overall thickness of 1.5 5 0.5 mm. The top and bottom surfaces of the disks shall be para
4、llel. within 0010. The center of the scale or grid area shall be within 2 0.2 mm of the geometric center of the disks. All graduations, grids and numbers shall be etched on the bottom side of the disks so as to be read through the glass when positioned in the eyepiece. numbers shall be permanent, ac
5、curate and sharply cut. When placed and viewed through the eyepiece in a microscope, disk etchings shall present highly defined rulings. Type I. The scale of Type I straight scale disks shall have the graduations, numbers and dimensions as shown in figure 1. Ali ruled scales, areas and Type II. The

8、ality, Assurance Provisions. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contrac
9、tor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to
10、assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, during the perfor
11、mance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and test
12、ing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the items, Samplinq for inspection. Sampling for inspection shall be conducted in accordance with commercial practice to determine compliance with specification requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used f
