This commercial item description covers one type of interval timer for laboratory use

Salient characteristics: Shall be an electrically powered, four-channel timer controlled by a quartz crystal for accuracy consisting of three countdown timing channels and a fourth channel which shall display the time of day. The countdown timing channels shall be capable of being set from 20 hour
3、s to one second. Each channel shall have a distinct tone and visible alarm which sounds and blinks until it has been shut off. Channel displays shall be 13 millimeter high LED display digits and shall operate on 120 volts A.C. at a frequency of 60 Hertz. The unit shall be approximately 2 inches (5.0
4、 cm) high by 7 inches (17.5 cm.) wide by 4 inches (10.0 cm.1 deep and housed in an ABS plastic case. Each unit shall have operating instructions which are neat and legible. Shall be in conformance with Under- writers Laboratory Standard 1222. Workmanship. The interval timer shall be free from defect
5、s which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability. Unit. Each (EA). One interval timer as specified, constitutes one unit. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance f all inspection re
6、quirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to p
7、erform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government upon the Governments request, at any time, or from tim
9、e to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. Inspections. Inspections, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appl
10、iances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item, Samplinq for inspection. Sampling for inspection shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more
11、 inspection character- istics* Unless otherwise specified, sampling for examination shall be conducted at inspection level S-2, AQL 2.5, and sampling for tests (when applicable) shall be conducted at inspection level 8-3, AQL 1.0. Tests. Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specific
12、ation requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more test characteristics. Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers own drawing
13、s, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Regulatory requirements. If the product covered by this
14、document has been determined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to be under its jurisdiction, the offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, as amended, and regulations pr
