This commerical item description covers straight and angular clamps of the Glover design suitable for use in cardiovascula
2、r surgical procedures. Salient characteristics: General. Coarctation clamps shall be of the Glover design having a 1 x 2 row jaw profile with serrated teeth that interdigitate. rows of teeth shall be matched to provide a firm non-slip grasp without trauma to tissue. Clamps shall have finger rings, r
3、atchets and box locks as defined in ASTM Designation F921. Material. Material of the clamps shall be Class 4 corrosion- resistant steel in accordance with ASTM Designation F899. The Style, design and dimensons. Clamps shall be in accordance with Defense Personnel Support Center (DPSC) Drawing No. 22
4、251 for style, design and dimensions. Straight clamps shall be annotated as type I and angular clamps as type II. Hardness. Clamps shall have a Rockwell Hardness C scale (HRC) of 40 to 48 when tested in accordance with ASTM Designation E18 or E92 whichever is applicable. Conversion of hardness value
5、s shall be in accordance with ASTM Designation E140. Finish. Clamps shall have a mirror or satin finish. Passivation. Corrosion resistance. plating of copper when tested for corrosion resistance in accordance with ASTM Designation F1089. Performance. F1026 for physical and performance requirements.

Clamps shall be examined to verify that design, construction and workmanship are in accordance wfth applicable requirements. Materials. The supplier shall be responsible for performing tests to assure that materials
9、 are in accordance with requirements. - Unit. Each (EA). One clamp, as specifiedr constitutes one unit. QualiQ Assurance Provisions. Responsibility for Inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchaic;e ordec, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requ
10、irements as specieied herein, Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the perEormance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more test characteristics. Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the pr
17、oduct offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwis
18、e provided for under the provisions of the contract. Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest re
19、vision of Federal Standard No. 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is
20、acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product. Regulatory requirements. Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. If the product covered by this document has been determined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to be under its jurisdiction, the offeror/contr
21、actor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subcontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, as amended, and regulations promulgated thereunder. In addition, the offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by its subc
22、ontractors/suppliers, with the requirements of all other applicable Federal, State, and local statutes, ordinances, and regulations. Recovered materials.
