This Commercial Item Description covers a portable solid state biologicals refrig

2、erator. Salient characteristics: The refrigerator shall be capable of maintaining operating temperatures between 33.8-42.8O, inclusive within all areas of the storage compartment. The refrigerator shall be capable of cooling the minimum gayload of whole blood units described below from 50F to 43 F,

3、at an ambient temperature of 81F, within seven hours. The refrigerator shall be capable of maintaining the payload temperature below 10C following power loss at 77OF ambient temperature for a minimum of six hours providing the appropriate 34OF-43OF storage temperature existed prior to power failure.

4、 It shall be suited for use in all rugged field environments within temperatures ranging from -25OF through 120F, inclusive. The unit shall pull down to 6OC within 7 hours at an ambient temperature of 27.2OC (after being grecooled to 6OC, with the full load of blood pre-cooled to 10 C). The refriger

5、ator with all accessories in place and containing a minimum payload of 30 whole blood units of 450 ml each or 50 packed red blood cell units of 270 ml each or the equivalent of either of the previous shall not exceed 125 pounds in weight and 8.5 cubic feet in external volume. Outside dimensions of u

6、nit shall not exceed 22.0 inches in depth or 32.0 inches in width (length). Volumes and dimensions do not include recording thermometer. Legs are not required on the refrigerator. 8、 equipped with a temperature indicator, and an audible and visual alarm system which will alert the operator that an abnormal temperature condition exists or existed. The temperature indicator and alarm system shall be flush mounted as an integral part of the unit. The alarm shall be activated when

9、the temperature falls outside the acceptable 34OF-43OF temperature range or in the event of electrical power loss. The alarm shall have a minimum dB rating of 60. The power source for the alarm system shall be separate from that of the refrigerator and shall incorporate a continually recharging batt

10、ery power source or utilize a standard commercially available battery in the Federal Supply System. The capability to measure battery voltage or indicate low battery voltage shall be included in the alarm system. The unit shall be certified by an independent testing laboratory to be in compliance wi

11、th UL 471, Section 49, Rain Test; Section 37, Leakage Current Test; and Section 44, Dielectric Voltage Withstand Test. The unit shall be supplied with a recording thermometer to provide a continuous hard copy recording of at least one week of storage compartment temperatures under non-transit condit

12、ions. The recording thermometer shall record all temperatures between minus 10C to plus 20C, in increments of 2OC as a minimum. supplied as an integral component of the thermometer alarm system or as a separate accessory item (packaged with the refrigerator), The maximum interval between points of r

The solid state biologicals refrigerator shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability. Unit. Each (EA). One refrigerator, as s

17、pecified, constitutes one unit. Quality Assurance Provisions. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contra

18、ct or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such ins

19、pections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government upon the Governments request, at any time, or fro

20、m time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory a

21、ppliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. Tests. Tests shall be performed on a first article sample, as follows, to determine compliance with specification requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for t

Measure the external volume of the unit. The unit shall have an external volume of 8.5 cubic feet. 4. Examine the unit for power requ

24、irements. The unit shall operate on all of the following power sources: 120 VAC, 50 Hz 120 VAC, 60 Hz 220 VAC, 50 Hz 220 VAC, 60 Hz 12 VDC 24 VDC 5. Load the unit with 30 blood bags of 450 ml each filled with fluid. Precondition the unit to approximately 39OF. Vary the ambient temperature as follows

33、s, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
