REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified in the procurement document, the contractor shall furni

9、sh sample unit(s) for first article inspection (see 4.1.2.1 and 6.2). to the applicable portions of the specifications, standards, and drawing listed herein. Materials shall be subjected to the tests and meet the requirements specified in these documents. chemical and physical requirements of the ap

Cotton duck shall be pre-shrunk such that residual shrinkage shall be not more than 2.0 percent in the direction of eithe

11、r the warp or the filling when tested as specified in 4.5.1. the cotton duck cited in 3.2.1 shall be furnished as GFM. required to examine the GFM upon receipt, and prior to use, to determine that the GFM is free from defects such as those cited in the Classification of Defects (Table III). All edges which are not selvaged shall be hemmed with stitching, Type EFb-1 or FED-STD 751. All seams shall be straight and evenly spaced. 3.5 Treatment. The finished cloth shall b

17、e type I, olive drab No. 7, class B of CCC-D-950, except that the cloth shall be made mildew resistant by treatment limited to one of the following mildew inhibitors: a. 2,2 Methylene-Bis (4-Chlorophenol) b. Copper -8- Quinolinolate 3.6 Identification marking. Each cover shall be marked, on the unde

18、rside, permanently and legibly, with the contract or purchase order number, the name or registered trademark of the manufacturer and the National Stock Number. 3.7 Workmanship. Workmanship shall be first class throughout. Item shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair it

19、s service- abi 1 i ty. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor ma

20、y use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless dis- approved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary t

21、o assure supplies and services conform to prescribed require- men ts . 4.1.1 Records. Records of examinations and tests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the contractor and made available to the Government, upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, duri

22、ng the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such records relate. 4J.2 Inspection. Inspection, as used in this specification, is defined as both examination (such as visual and auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory

23、appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. herein are classified as follows: 4.1.2.1 Classification of inspection. First article inspection shall be performed on the cover when a first a

25、rticle sample is required (see 3.1). This inspection shall include examination of 4.4 and tests of 4.5. 4.1.2.1.2 Quality conformance inspection. Quality conformance inspection shall include the examination of 4.4 and tests of 4.5. 4.1.3 Certificates of quality. Certificates of quality, supplied by

26、the manufacturer of the materials may be furnished in lieu of actual performance of such testing by the contractor, provided lot identity has been maintained and can be demonstrated to the Government and provided also that the test methods and the results obtained comply with those described in this

27、 speci- fication. The certificate shall include the name of the contractor, the contract number, the name of the manufacturer or supplier, the NSN, the Item Identification, the name of the component/material, the lot number, the lot site, the sample size, the date of testing, the test method, indivi

28、dual test recul ts, and the specification requirements. 4.2 Inspection lot. 4.2.1 Raw materials. An inspection lot for raw material inspection shall be all material produced under the same conditions and controlled to the degree that uniformity of product within the designated lot can be assured. Lo

29、t identification of the raw material by the manufacturer is one method of control, as cited above, which is considered acceptable. 4.2.2 End roduct. An inspection lot for inspection of end product shall consist of _e_ al covers of the same type produced under essentially the same conditions and offe

The cover shall be examined to determine compliance with all requirements contained in this specification. 4.4.1 Classification of defects. Examination shall be conducted in accordance with the classification of defects lis

The inspection of the unit package, packing and marking for shipment and storage shall be in accordance with quality assurance provisions of the applicable container specification and the marking requirements Of MIL-STD-129. 4.5 Tests. requirements a 4.5.1 Test Method 5550 of FED-TEST METHO

39、D-STD-NO. 191. 4.5.2 Breaking strength. Government-furnished cotton duck shall be tested for breaking strength in accordance with method 5100 of FED-TEST METHOD-STD-NO. 191, 5.
