All class I railroads, as described in 1240.1 of this chapter, subject to Part I of the Interstate Commerce Act, shall compile and report freight commodity statistics on the basis of the com-modity codes named in 1248.101. Car-riers shall report quarterly on the basis of the 3, 4

12、 and 5-digit commodity codes named in that section. (a) Commodity codes 01 through 422 and 44 through 462, named in 1248.101, shall include only carload traffic. All shipments weighing less than 10,000 pounds shall be included in commodity code 431, S

18、mall packaged freight ship-ments. (b) A carload for the purpose of this order shall consist of a shipment of not less than 10,000 pounds of one com-modity. A mixed carload for the pur-pose of this order shall be treated as a carload of that commodity which forms the major portion of the shipment in

19、weight. If a single shipment is loaded into more than one car, each car used shall be reported as a carload. If more than one carload shipment is loaded into one car, each shipment shall be re-ported separately as a carload. 32 FR 20466, Dec. 20, 1967 1248.4 Originating and connecting line traffic.

20、(a) Revenue freight reported as re-ceived from connecting rail carriers shall include all shipments received from connecting rail carriers, either directly or indirectly, so far as apparent from information on the waybills or ab-stracts. (b) Revenue freight reported as origi-nating on respondents ro

21、ad shall include shipments originating on line and ship-ments received from water lines and highway motor truck lines, except when identified as having had previous rail transportation, as provided in paragraph (a) of this section. (c) Freight which receives its first line-haul on respondents road,

22、but originates on switching roads con-necting directly or indirectly with re-spondents line, shall be reported as freight originated by respondent. (d) Revenue freight reported as deliv-ered to connecting rail carriers shall in-clude shipments delivered to con-necting rail carriers, either directly

23、or indirectly, as far as apparent from in-formation on waybills or abstracts. (e) Revenue freight reported as termi-nating on respondents road shall include shipments terminating on line and shipments delivered to water lines and highway motor truck lines, except when identified as to receive furthe

24、r rail transportation as provided in para-graph (d) of this section. (f) Freight which receives its last line haul on respondents line, but is deliv-ered to a switching road connecting di-rectly or indirectly with respondents line, shall be reported as freight termi-nated by respondent. (g) Import a

25、nd export traffic received from or delivered to water carriers and traffic from and to outlying posses-sions of the United States received from or delivered to water carriers shall be reported as originating or ter-minating at the port of entry or exit.
