QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 General: Dry reed relays procured in accordance with the document shall meet all inspection re- quirements of this section. 4.1.1 Test Equipment and Inspection Facilities: The supplier of reed re
33、lays to this document will have established a calibration system that will accurately and adequately indicate parameters being tested. MIL-C-45662 may be used as a guide line. 4.2 e Quality Conformance Inspection 4.2.1 Sampling Plan: Unless otherwise specified statistical sampling and inspection sha
34、ll be in accordance with MTL-STD-105 inspection level II. A.Q. L. levels are specified in Table I. Defects shall be considered collectively for the purpose of acceptance or rejection only on tests shown within the particular A.Q.L. block. Defects from sep- arate blocks shall not be combined to cause
35、 rejection. 4.2.2 Inspection and Preparation for Delivery: Inspection shall be performed to ensure that relays have been packaged to the best commercial standards, and there shall be no chance of lead damage or any other undue damage that would affect the form, fit or function of the relays. See sec
36、tion 26 for preparation details. 4.2.3 Visual and Mechanicaz Examination: Relays shall be examined to verify that the materials, external design and construction, physical dimensions, marking, and workmanship are in accordance with applicable specifications. See section 5 for examination details. 4.
37、2.4 Electrical Tests: Relays shall be tested to verify that they will meet the electrical requirement listed in Table I. These tests are considered the most essential to proper relay operation. They must be carefully performed in accordance with the procedure listed under the applicable section. Any
38、 additional tests must be specified in the purchasing document. 5. VISUAL AND MECHANICAL INSPECTION 5.1 General: Relays shall be examined to verify that materials, internal and external design and con- struction, physical dimensions, marking and workmanship are in accordance with applicable requirem

OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS 6.1 General: This test method specified the procedures to be used in testing reed relays for pickup, nonpickup, hold, dropout, dwell and maximum values when operated by direct current. The test leads and their clips when attached to the terminals must be non-m
41、agnetic. Magnetic fields and materials should be isolated from the relay under test. Contact loads for these measurements shall be 0.050 Vdc maximum, 10 mA for low level contacts, and 6-12 Vdc, 10-100 mA for all ather contacts. Lamps with high inrush currents shall not be em- ployed. Accuracy of the
42、se measurements shall be f 3% of full scale. The specified ramp rates shall not exceed 1 ms/volt for the “Fast” rate, and 50 ms/volt for the “Slow” rate. If a step ramp is employed, the steps shall not exceed 0.1 volthncrement. When the “Fast” rate is employed, the rate shalt- be such as to not prod
43、uce excess ringing in the coil, See Figure 1 for repre- sentative ramp waveforms. 6.2 Requirements: The following requirements shall be specified: 6.2.1 Pickup, dropout, and nominal values which are applicable, 6.2.2 Nonpickup and hold values if applicable (4 element test), 6.2.3 Dwell values when a
44、pplicahle (Form C contacts), 6.2.4 Maximum or overdrive value where applicable (Form B and latching biased configurations), 6.2.5 Soak duration, polarity, and value if other than that specified, and 6.2.6 Ramp rates other than those specified. 45、r- element-nonpolarized and internal-diode suppressed configurations. The following sequence shall be used: a. A soak value at nominal voltage shall be applied for a minimum of 10 ms, b. The voltage shall be decreased to zero at a fast rate, c. The voltage shall be increased at a fast rate to the no
46、npickup value, specified. The contacts shall remain in their nonoperated condition, d. The voltage shall be increased at a slow rate until the last contact pair has attained its fully operated condition. This voltage is the pickup voltage, measured, e. The voltage shall be increased at a fast rate t
47、o the specified nominal value, f. The voltage shall be decreased at a fast rate to the hold value, specified. The contacts shall remain in their fully operated condition, and * I I 0 6.3 Procedure: g. The voltage shall be decreased at a slow rate until the last contact pairreturns to its non- operat
48、ed condition. This voltage is the dropout voltage, measured. 6.3.3 Form C actuation: When specified, each Form C contact set shall be measured for dwell. The procedure is similar to the two element sequence except the measured values are taken on each Form C capsule in the relay. The following seque
49、nce shall be used: a. A soak value at nominal voltage shall be applied for a minimum of 10 ms, b. The voltage shall be decreased to zero at a fast rate, c. The voltage shall be increased at a slow rate until the normally closed contact pair opens.
