11、usly published in EIA-364-11B.) 1 Introduction 1.1 Scope This procedure is to determine the ability of connector materials to withstand solvents that may be used to clean components. NOTE The test solutions indicated herein shall be considered as test mediums only. They shall not be considered as an
12、 indication, approval, recommendation or acknowledgment of industry usage. 2 Test Resources 2.1 Equipment 2.1.1 Beaker, container or vapor degreaser made of non-reactive material and of sufficient size 2.1.2 Wire mesh basket of sufficient size, if applicable 2.1.3 Weight scale accurate to within 1 g
13、ram 2.2 Material 2.2.1 One of the two groups of solvents as shown in table 1 shall be chosen to perform the test, contingent on the cleaning process involved. Test specimens shall be exposed to group 1 solvents, unless otherwise specified in the referencing document. 2.2.2 In the event solutions oth
14、er than those specified in table 1, are to be used, those solutions shall be specified in the referencing document along with the time and temperature levels involved. EIA-364-11C Page 2 CAUTION The solvents in table 1 exhibit some potential for health and safety hazards. The following safety precau
15、tions shall be observed: 1 Avoid contact with eyes. Chemical goggles should be worn while performing this test. 2 Avoid prolonged contact with skin. 3 Provide adequate ventilation. 4 Avoid open flame. 5 Refer to the manufacturers material safety data sheets for emergency first aid procedures. 19、IA-364-11C Page 3 3 Test specimen 3.1 Description A test specimen shall consist of a plug, a receptacle, a mated plug and receptacle, or a socket as specified in the referencing document. 4 Test procedure 4.1 When specified in the referencing document, each individual test specimen shall be identifi
20、ed and weighed and the weight recorded. 4.2 Separate test specimens shall be exposed to each solution involved. 4.3 All solutions within each group selected shall be included in the test. 4.4 An appropriate vessel large enough to accept the test specimen shall be selected. 4.5 The vessel shall be fi
21、lled to a level sufficient to cover the test specimen plus 2.54 centimeters (1.0 inch) minimum. 4.6 The solution shall be heated to the temperature indicated. The tolerance of the temperature shall be +2.8 C / -0 C (+5 F / -0 F) and maintained for 15 minutes prior to proceeding. 4.7 The test specime
22、n shall be immersed in the solution and allowed to stand for the period of time indicated. 4.8 After removal from the solution, the test specimen shall be allowed to recover to room ambient conditions and remain in that state for 5.0 minutes prior to further examination. 4.9 When specified in the re
23、ferencing document, and prior to visual examination, the test specimen shall be weighed and the weight recorded. 4.10 The test specimens shall be visually examined under 10X magnification, unless otherwise specified in the referencing document.
