Existence of such standards shall not in any respect preclude any member or non-member of EIA from manufacturing or selling products not conforming to such standards, nor shall the existence of such standards pre- clude their voluntary use by those othe

Recommended standards are adopted by EIA without regard to whether or not their adop- tion may involve patents on articles, materials, or processes. By such action, EIA does not assume any liability to any

This Standard contains the major technical contents of International Electrotechnical Com- mission Publication 68-2-3, Test Cu: Dump Heat, Steady Stute. It differs from IEC Publication 68-2-3 by o

INTRODUCTION This Test Method forms a part of the EIA Standard RS-186 which contains test guidance, definitions and standard test condition
9、s. 1. 2. 2.1 2.2 2.3 PURPOSE This test is intended to evaluate the effect of absorption and diffusion of moisture and moisture vapor on component parts. The test in an artificial environmental test, accelerated to shorten the testing time. This test is of value in determining the resistance of the c
10、omponent parts to the inroads of moisture, but should not be considered as a tropical test for all types of component parts. PROCEDURE Mounting - Unless otherwise specified in the individual specification, specimens shall be mounted by their normal mounting means. Pre-Conditioning and Initial Measur
11、ements - Unless otherwise specified, the specimens shall be conditioned at a temperature of 50 *SoC(122 +9“F) for a period of 24 hours. At the end of this period, specimens shall be allowed to thermally stabilize under standard conditions of test, and initial measurements shall then be made as speci
12、fied in the individual specification. Exposure - The specimens shall be placed in a chamber and subjected to a relative humidity of 90 to 95% and a temperature of 40 +2“C(104 +3.6“F) for one of the standard periods of time indicated below, Unless otherwise specified, the 10 day (240 h.) exposure sho

The instrumentation ac

The water utilized to produce the atmosphere should be conditioned by an appropriate method to assure consistently pure water with a pH value between 6.0 and 7.2 at 23C(73“F). 2.5 Loading and Polarizing Voltages - If specified in the ind

The method of measurement shali be as shown in the detailed component standard. 2.7 Final Measurements - At the completion of a period of thermal stabilization, final measurements 3. SUMMARY The following details shall he specified in the individual specification: 3.1 Preconditioning requirements if standard conditions (2.2) are not applicable. 3.2 Initial measurements after preconditioning (2.2). 3.3 Exposure duration (2.3) if other than 10 days. 3.4 Magnitude of voltage and points of application, if applicable (2.5). 3.5 Final measurements after exposure (2*7).
