This European Standar
、d does not define the application independent characteristics. They are defined and described in EN 726-3 and EN 726-4. This European Standard defines the operating procedures and the minimal cardphone requirements for the card related part of the payphone application. These will: - simplify custome
、r use through a common sequence; - ensure the inter-European use of IC cards containing the payphone related applications. For this purpose, this Standard describes: - how to ensure, through the payphone application, the entitlement to the invocation of telecommunication features and payment methods
、; - how the payphone application detects which telecommunication features and payment methods are offered by the card; - how the payphone application, or the user through the cardphone, can select the different telecommunication features and payment methods offered by the card; - the relation to the
、 security module through the payphone; - payphone application concepts; - the payphone function, only in the sense of voice telephony. 2 Normative references This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference, provisions from other publications.
