Themodificationsare: Thedeflectionofthesocketisnowpermittedtobegreaterthanspecifiedifbydeflectingthespigottothe specifiedamountthesocket,withoutapplyingloadtoit,isdeflectedtomorethanspecified.Thereason isthatexperiencewithtestingla

16、rgediameterpipesinaccordancewiththe1996versionhasshownthat forsomepipedesignsadeflectionof10%ofthespigotresultedinadeflectionlargerthan5%ofthe socketwithoutapplyinganyloadtoit.Thisisthemajorreasonfortherevision. Asupportfortheprofilesunderthedeflectiondevice,seeFigure2,arespecifiedincaseswheretherei

17、s ariskthattheprofilesaredeflectedtoomuchwhendeflectingthespigotorsocket. Figure4hasbeenaddedtoclarifythedescriptionofthedeflectiondevices. Theprocedurefordeterminingandapplyingthedeflectionhasbeendescribedinmoredetails,see6.2. Anumberofeditorialchangesincludingamorelogicorderofthedescriptionofthete

18、stequipmentand testprocedurehavebeenintroduced. Thematerialdependentparametersand/orperformancerequirementsareincorporatedintheSystem Standard(s)concerned. Thisstandardisoneofaseriesofstandardsontestmethods,whichsupportSystemStandardsforplastics pipingsystemsandductingsystems. AccordingtotheCEN/CENE

20、dtheUnitedKingdom.EN1277:2003(E) 3 1Scope ThisEuropeanstandardspecifiesthreebasictestpressuresfordeterminingtheleaktightnessofelastomeric sealingringtypejointsforburiedthermoplasticsnonpressurepipingsystems. Unlessotherwisespecifiedinthereferringstandard,themethodspressuresusedarethefollowing: p 1 :

21、internalnegativeairpressure(partialvacuum); p 2 :alowinternalhydrostaticpressure; p 3 :ahigherinternalhydrostaticpressure. Italsodescribesfourtestconditionsunderwhichthetestcanbeexecuted,asfollows: A: withoutanyadditionaldiametricorangulardeflection; B: withdiametricdeflection; C: withangulardeflect

22、ion; D: withsimultaneousangularanddiametricdeflection. Theseconditionscanbeappliedindividuallyorincombination.Theapplicableselectionofthemethod(s) andthecondition(s)shouldbespecifiedinthereferringstandard. 2Principle Atestpieceassembledfrompipesand/orfittingsissubjectedtoaspecificinitialinternalnega

23、tiveair pressure, p 1 followedbyalowspecificinitialinternalhydrostaticpressure, p 2 andahigherinternal hydrostaticpressure, p 3 . Duringtestingthejointmaybesubjectedtodiametricand/orangulardeflection(s).Thereferringproduct standardshallspecifywhichofthetestpressuresanddeflectionconditionshavetobecar

24、riedout. Eachpressureismaintainedforaspecificperiodduringwhichthejointismonitoredforleakage(see clause6). NOTE1 Itisassumedthatthefollowingtestparametersaresetbythestandardmakingreferencetothisstandard: a) thetestpressure(s), p 1 seeitemd)of6.1, p 2 seeitemf)of6.1and p 3 seeitemg)of6.1,asapplicable,

26、geandseweragepipespublishedbeforethisEuropean Standardmayberequired(seeannexA). 3Apparatus 3.1General Theapparatusshallconsistofajigoranyotherarrangementcapableof: a) applyingthespecifieddiametricand/orangulardeflection; b) applyingthespecifiedtestpressure(s),positiveornegative; c) maintainingthetes

27、tassemblyintherequiredpositionthroughoutthetest; d) resistingtheforcesresultingfromthemassofthewaterinthetestassemblyandfromtheapplied hydrostatictestpressure(s)duringthetestperiod. Theapparatusshallnototherwisesupportthejointagainsttheinternaltestpressure.EN1277:2003(E) 4 Atypicalarrangement,allowi

28、ngangularanddiametricdeflection,isshowninFigure1. 3.2Apparatus Theapparatusshallincludethefollowingitemswhichallshallbecapableofresistingtheforcesand pressuresgeneratedduringthetest. 3.2.1 Endsealingdevices, havingasizeandusingasealingmethodappropriatetosealthenonjointed endsofthetestassembly.Thedev

29、icesshallberestrainedinamannerthatdoesnotexertlongitudinal forcesonthejointatpositivepressures; 3.2.2 Hydrostaticpressuresource ,connectedtooneofthesealingdevices,ortothetestpiece,and capableofapplyingandmaintainingthespecifiedpressureseeitemsf)andg)of6.1; 3.2.3 Negativeairpressuresource, connectedt

Thelengthofthebeamorthecurvedpartofthebeams
