They shall be designed in such a way that they can be

2、easily cleaned and that water cannot accumulate. Slip resistance shall at least be in accordance with classification group R 10 conforming to prEN 12437 2:1996, annex A. 4.6.2 The front edge of steps shall be designed so that slipping and stumbling will be prevented. 4.6.3 Stairs shall be so designe

3、d as to prevent stumbling. If slits are required, their opening width shall not be more than 10 mm. 4.6.4 Coarnings shall be scalloped at platforms or adjacent landings in the walkway unless otherwise stipulated by existing provisions. 4.7 Hand rails I Railings Stairs with up to three steps shall ha

4、ve a handhold at one side. Stairs with more than three steps and widths fl 900 mm shall be provided with railings or hand rails at both sides. In the case of stairs outside the passenger areas and which have a breadth f, I 900 mm, one railing or hand rail needs to be provided. Railings of stairs sha

5、ll be designed according to EN 71 1. Hand rails shall be fixed at a height of 950 f 50 mm. In the passenger area, an additional hand rail for children shall be provided at a height of 650 f 50 mm. Hand rails or railings shall be continuous over the full length of the stairway. At their upper ends th

6、ey shall be suitably connected to structures or other continuous railings. At their lower ends hand rails and railings shall extend to the vertical line above the outermost point of the string. Hand rails shall be designed in such a way that their connectors do not hinder the continuous movement of

7、the hands. Their distance g from adjacent structures shall be at least 60 mm; their ends shall be arranged to prevent injuries and to avoid damage to clothes. If railings are requested for landings adjacent to stairs, these shall be executed according to EN 71 I. OBSI 06-2000 Page 10 EN 13056:2000 4

8、.8 Headroom The headroom kas well as the height above treads and platforms shall be at least 2 O00 mm, vertically. NOTE If the construction permits, the headroom kshouid be at least 2 100 mm. 4.9 Strength Stairs shall be permanently installed. Steps in the working area shall be designed for a single

9、 load of 13 kN each and in the passenger area for 2,O kN each. If the expected load of 5 kN/m2 leads to greater values, these shall be the basis for calculation The fixed stairs shall withstand a load which corresponds to 100 % of the total of the step loads without producing permanent deformation.

10、For treads and platforms adjacent to stairs, a load (imposed load) of 5 kN/d shall be assumed. 5 Manufacturers declaration The manufacturer has to declare that the stair is constructed conforming to this standard. 6 Designation Stairs shall be designed in conformance with the following details: a) D
