Thematerialsusedinwaterinstallations,includingthematerialsofprotectorunitsincontactwithdrinkingwater, shallsatisfytheEuropeanStandardsandnationalacceptancecriteriaand/ornationalrestrict

26、. 7Requirements 7.1General Theprotectionassemblycomprisesfourpartsintegralwithoneanother: aninjector/upstreamfeedorifice; areceivingdevice/downstreamreceivingorifice;EN13079:2003(E) 7 areceivingvessel(downstreamelement); anairbreaktodrain. 7.2Upstreamfeedorifice Theupstreamfeedorificeoftheinjectorsh
27、alldischargeacrossthehorizontaldistanceA(theairgap). Thesmallestdimensionforcalculatingtheinletsectionshallnotbelessthan4mm.Itshallnotbepossibleforthe injectionorificetobeincontactwithaproductfromdownstream,whetherowingtobackfloworbendingor deformationoftheassembly.Everyfeedpipesupplyingwatertosucha
28、valveassemblyorotherdeviceshallbe fixedinitspositiontopreventitfrommovingorbuckling. 7.3Downstreamreceivingorifice. Thisorificeshallbesizedtoaccommodatethefullflowrateofthefeeditshallbepositionedonthesamehorizontal axisandwilldischargeintothereceivingvessel.Everypipereceivingwaterfromsuchanassemblys
29、hallbefixedin itspositiontopreventitfrommovingorbuckling. 7.4Receivingvessel Thereceivingvesselshallbesopositionedthatwastedwateriskepttoanabsoluteminimumandtoensurethat anywaterreturningduetothemaximumpossiblepositivepressurebackflowdoesnotcomeintocontactwiththe upstreamfeedorifice. 7.5Airbreaktodr
30、ain Theairbreaktodrainshallbecapableofdrainingoffthemaximumflowratewithoutcontactingtheinlet device(injector(s),withallinjectorsdischargingwithaindividualflowrateofQ=0,14D 2 l/min.or,adynamic pressureof1MPa(10bar)iftheflowrateQcannotbeachievedwhenthereceivingvesselfeedpipesareclosed. Theairbeaktodra
31、inshallcomplywiththerequirementsofEN1717. 7.6Airgap(Distance“A“) Theairgapdistanceisthehorizontaldistancebetweentheterminalendoftheupstreamorifice(injector)andthe inletendofthedownstreamreceivingorifice.Thedistance,A,shallnotbelessthanthevalueA 2Dbutnotless than20mm(seeFigure3). Innormalconditionsof
32、use,nosplashingtowardstheoutsideshallbeobserved.
